Doncaster Heart Support Group was started approximately twelve years ago by a small group of people who had had heart problems.
After being discharged from hospital they encountered problems, some of which they could not get answered. They found by talking through their problems they were much easier to deal with. They considered that other sufferers may benefit by meeting informally and discussing their fears and how they overcame them.
They invited the Coronary Care Nurses from Doncaster Royal Infirmary to come along and join the group. One Coronary Care Nurse now attends the meetings each month and is available for general help and advice.
