Nakayama Miho is a hardworking 30-year old book editor but her ambitions are thwarted by her lack of bestselling titles.  She is assigned to handle Toyokawa Etsushi, who used to be famous but has been in a slump for the past two years.  He's very arrogant and difficult but she refuses to give up and makes every effort to motivate him.   Meanwhile, Katori Shingo is his neighbour and a new fledgling illustrator, while Yuuka is a great fan of Toyokawa Etsushi, and because of him, decides to work as a waitress in a cafe below his home.  A complicated love triangle (rectangle?) develops when Miho falls for Etsushi but Etsushi is attracted to Yuuka while Yuuka starts to develop feelings who Shingo, who in turn seems to be interested in Miho...

Esumi Makiko is a doctor who is very successful in her career but very bad at love.  She decides to go to Rome to surprise her boyfriend with a valentine's gift and on her flight over, meets and befriends Yonekura Ryoko, an air stewardess, during a medical emergency on-board.  When she arrives in Rome, she discovers her boyfriend in bed with another woman...  In a church in Rome, Esumi Makiko meets an old woman who tells her that she will fall in love and marry a guy "who will not hold back anything from her".  Later, on the flight back to Tokyo, she helps out a man with a stomache-ache and out of gratitude, the guy who's a chef invites her and Yonekura Ryoko to dine at  his restaurant where he introduces them to his friend, who is the secretary of a congressman, and the two woman become attracted to him...

Doumoto Koichi is a former police inspector who has been downgraded to the "Seikatsu Anzen" (Life Safety) division after he helps out a little girl but is mistakened to be a kidnapper - thanks to the inaccurate reporting by Uchiyama Rina, a news reporter.  He is partnered up with Kakei Toshio, and in their first assignment, are sent to protect a university student from a stalker.  But they fail in their mission, and a few days later, the girl is hurt... In each episode, Koichi is faced a different assignment, which he tries to solve with his partner Toshio.

Shin Omizu no Hanamichi is the sequel to "Omizu no Hanamichi" and picks up on the lives of Zaizen Naomi and Kamikawa Takaya after their parting.  Club Paradise has lost much of its former glory after the departure of Zaizen Naomi - as well as most of the club's other successful hostesses, who had been recruited by a successful new club.  A new girl who is a great fan of Zaizen Naomi and wants to be just like her, joins Club Paradise but is disappointed to learn that she no longer worked there.  Meanwhile, the club is struggling to find enough experienced hostesses to tackle a big party they had been booked for, and she goes to find Zaizen Naomi in the countryside to get her to return to the club.  Zaizen Naomi is no longer a glamourous hostess but a woman living very simply in the countryside.  She refuses to go back to Club Paradise as she has no desire to return to her former profession.   However, that night, she dreams of Kamikawa Takaya, who says to her that "even though we parted, we will see each other again if we can meet in a place that's important to both of us"...  She naturally thinks of Club Paradise and thus changes her mind and shows up on the eve of the party to help them out...

Nagase Tomoya is a famous pop star who falls in love and marries a common girl, Takeuchi Yuki.  But he has to keep his marriage secret because his producer, Tsunku, is worried it will affect his career.  Tomoya the singer is very different from Tomoya the husband: the former is a very "kakko ii" idol while the latter is a very "dasai" guy.  Meanwhile, Tomoya also has to deal with problems on the homefront - as Yuki's father is opposed to the match, while one of her sisters is secretly in love with Tomoya herself and the other works for a record company and is a big gossip.
