High Fidelity
Starring:  John Cusak, and a bunch of other stars, including his sister and Tim Robbins
This movie had a great idea, but couldn’t quite pull it together.  Maybe it’s the lack of compassion for the main character.  He’s an immature, juvenile acting, asshole, obsessed with women and music, and not necessarily in that order.  Cusak plays an unsympathetic character at best, holding our attention only because he does most of the talking.  Luckily, John Cusack is easy on the eyes.  I want to like any character played by John Cusack, but I couldn’t quite feel much for Rob in this movie, hence, I could not figure out why his ex-girlfriend Laura comes back to him.  The supporting cast is great and there are many cameos.  Unfortunately the movie seems to go on forever and ever.  Maybe if he only counted the top 3 of everything I would of liked it better.  Being trapped in VH-1 countdown hell for 90 plus minutes is a tough storyline to make interesting.
Top 5 reasons I will only give High Fidelity two stars:
1. Too long
2. Too long
3. Too simple
4. Too unsympathetic a main character
5. Too much angst:  Hey if you can work whenever you want, wear whatever you want, go out at night, and still have sex with Lisa Bonet, what are you complaining about?
