The Deep Mystique
There have been a couple of different types of Wiccans that I have come across and/or heard of in the few years that I have been studying Wicca/Witchcraft. The following are a list of what I know and will be added onto as I go along and meet new people. If you know of any others, please e-mail me at dorian_waters@yahoo.com
Hereditary Witch-This is also known as a Trade family or family trade witch. A lot of witches claimed to be this but few really know if they trully are or not. It is exactly what its name implies, that you were born or adopted into a family of witches that goes back in matrilineal generations of practice.
Kitchen Witch-This is the type of witch that usually sticks to hearth and home. He/she is not usually into as much of the religious side of Wicca but more of the "Herbal Home Remedies" and such. ^_^
Solitary Witch-LOL...I guess that this would be me at the moment. It is someone that is not part of a coven, whether by choice or by lack of closeness to others, and practices by themselves. They also learn by themselves as well.
Dianic Witch-This denomination depends on the person and is known as the 'feminine aspect' of witchcraft. I was once going to be dedicated by this group and join their coven but my ethics and theirs did not mingle. This is not to say that they are bad in any way, shape, or form, just that it wasn't for me.
Deborah Witch-Basically the same thing as Dianic.
Gardnerian Tradition-This coven was started by Gerald Gardner in England in the 1950's. I do not know much of this group except there name and date but I'll find out more. Quite popular group.
Alexandrian Tradition-I know about as much on this group as I do Gardnerian. Made in the 1960's by Alex Sanders. This guy believed that he was the king of witches, or at least of his own group. ^_^
