He
re we’ll show some report of different organizations about the way the media in the Balkans show the information to the public and especially the youth. Knowing that our age is more conditioned by things they hear in the news and by adults.

      UN report about the electronic and written media in the Balkans
     
The main source of this report is an extended text by the UN Commission on Human Rights, about the media in the former Yugoslavia. Some of the points of that report are:
  • The nationalism tendencies of the written and electronic media in the former Yugoslav republics.
  • Restrictions on freedom of the media (in areas controlled by the Government).
  • Monopolies.
  • Media freedom on risk.

This information regard many countries of the Balkans, and at the end, there are conclusions and some advices for the media and governments. It is worth reading it.

The Haradinaj Case: the Kosovar media rashomon

This article talks about an accident between two armed groups. In this accident was injured a former general of the KLA. The information reported in this article was insufficient and contradictory.

This is another demonstration of how the media in the Balkan is reporting the actual situation and gives wrong opinions to the readers. And this is not an isolated case of misinformation
