Yesterday (Friday) I went to the RV show in Salem to crawl in and out of RVs. It reminded me of why I don't care for RV shows. There were very few booths which is what I would like to see more of. After the first 10 minutes, all RV start looking the same. Most of them are glitzy on the surface and junk underneath. I was impressed with the Airstream trailers. They looked pretty good. It didn't look as if they had much outside storage though so would not be the best for fulltiming. Of course if you had a truck or better yet a van to tow it, you could have lots of storage in the tow vehicle. But I saw nothing that even approached the storage, size, and quality of my Born Free so I guess I will keep it for a while longer. :-)
Today I have to pick up some bird seed as I am out and the birds are hungry. We had a storm come through last night with high winds and lots of rain so the birds probably had a rough night. I also need to get to Camping World and buy another set of levelers. They have them on sale and I have been short a few times with my two sets so I could use another. Of course I could get automatic levelers instead. Lets see, $15 for blocks or $3000 for automatic levelers. Hmmmm, not a hard decision. I will let you know what I end up with!

Last night I picked up the Easy Curtain I had ordered. You can see these at www.easycurtain.com. They make a curtain for the windshield area of Class C RVs. It works great and is easy to put up.
We have some rain coming in and it is scheduled to rain heavily for the rest of the month. Sure glad I am no longer living in the house anymore. With all these heavy rains and the high winds expected, I would have been worrying about trees coming down on the house. They would have reduced it to toothpicks.

Not much happening here just normal everyday stuff. This last weekend was supposed to be partly sunny. Unfortunately there was little to no sun. Today however, when I had to go back to work it was sunny most of the day. At least there was very little rain over the weekend so I was able to do a few outside things around the place.

Got my Christmas present from my brother Bob yesterday. A couple of books and 3 games for my laptop. So I sat here all evening playing the new Mahjong Garden To Go game I got. Lots of fun.
This morning while I was getting ready for work the electricity went out in this area but I didn't even notice until I checked the microwave to see what time it was. Totally black. Checked outside and it was black out there too. No campground lights. The lights, furnace and bathroom fan were all working fine. Not even a blink when the power went out. One of the advantages of living in an RV. That stuff was all running off my batteries. I just shut off all but the critical lights and continued on. Apparently a large line coming into this area died for some reason so Wilsonville and Canby were without electricity. When I came home tonight there was electricity so all is back to normal now. Well back to Mahjong Garden To Go I go!

Sunday was a fairly nice day. Only rained a little bit. I managed to get out and check and refill the water in my coach batteries. Also did a general check up of outside stuff and dumped my tanks. I also finally got around to making my hotel reservations for my son Chris' college graduation. Now I just need to finalize my plans and get my plane reservation.
Went back to work on Monday. Nothing too exciting. Today I went to our disaster recovery site and fixed the tape library and generally got things working again.
I have been taking a brisk walk around the campgroud twice each day. If we get some reasonably good weather some evening I want to try doing my 5 mile walk again. I also need to start going back to the gym and get some good workouts in. My cough is getting better so I think I can do an easy workout without coughing too much. Still having trouble getting a good nights sleep though. Need to get ready for spring activities. We may even have a day without rain at some point! I am not holding my breath. Saw lots of flooding on my drive to the DR site today. It will take a long time for everything to dry out.

Almost no rain today! Tomorrow is supposed to be dry also. I took a walk through the campground again. I need to ease into working out again since being sick. I have been laying around for two weeks doing nothing.
I washed out my bird feeders today. With all the rain, they had some wet seed in the bottoms and that needed to be emptied out. Also went to Backyard Bird Store to get some more seed as I was almost out. I had a red wing blackbird at my feeders today Never had one of them before. Now that I am not in the forest anymore and near water I guess it is normal to see them at feeders. I love their song.

Well I am finally feeling a little better. Had a nasty time with a sore throat and cough. Still have a cough that will probably hang on for a while. Great way to start the new year! Hopefully the year will be better from now on. We have been getting lots of rain here. At least the temps have been mild. Hopefully no more freezing for this winter.
