Miho

Sin City

Time: 10 hours
Cost: $50+
Completed: October 2006

After seeing the Sin City movie, I was hooked. Here was a completely badass character that seemed tailor-made for me to cosplay! (not to be conceited or anything.) I have identical physical characteristics (very short- about 5', and Asian), the weaponry and the costuming skills. It is also the time I finally get around to wearing contacts regularly so I can resemble cosplay characters to a greater degree (nearly the truth).
I also looked up Frank Miller's versions of Miho in his graphic novels The Big Fat Kill and Family Values, but of course I went with the costume represented in the movie (main reason- the graphic novels have no color reference!).

The only things not made are the bra, pants (already owned) and shoes. I want to keep how I made this costume a secret (although fabric stores in Toronto were a big help). I hope I'm the most accurate Miho on the internet so far :)
The earrings are also handmade... out of paper! And yet they shine like metal and they even stood up to being worn in a torrential downpour. Though I want to make or commission real metal ones someday.
I can't wait to wear it at a comic book convention, and you bet I'll be wearing it to Sin City 2!
