Just wondering if a few investors could share about how they got sucked into this dot1web? For somebody on the outside looking in, I would like to hear your comments.

Investing in Dot1web

I was approached by Mike Franco to invest in the company at 10cents a share. I talk to Bob over the phone and he was making many promises. He always talked positive. So I invested 2k.

After the company expanded he offered investors warrents at 10cents a share with 40cents to exercise the warrants.

Last year he began saying that his former lawyers and his chief engineer were trying to take over the company and he needed a personal loan to buyout the company so that the company couldnt be taken over. I needed the money to by Freedom Motorcycles and the company would go public. He also stated that he had a lawsuit against the lawyers and the engineer. I gave him a loan for 6 months at 10% interest or I can choose get shares in the new company at 5 cents a share.

Well, more than 6months have past and I haven't received the stock certificates or the loan back. Then I found out about this message board and began reading the articles in the local paper. I now realize I have been screwed big time.

How can the FBI's involvement on this businessman be personal? It is investor sense to know if your potential investment is under the extreme scrutiny of the law.

If the leader of that business has an extended history of suit, every investor and every consumer should be aware of it. It's that sort of awareness that greases the wheels of consumer capitalism.

This is a consumer service review site.

There is a line of illegal activity going back twelve years that proves the owner of this ISP is a crook. Doesn't this provide the public with the consumer knowledge they need to know before a product is purchased?

Would you purchase an item from a thief?

Please consider this: have you ever offended someone by taking their parking spot, or squeaked into line before them. Did you feel bad about it? Now, can you magnify that feeling to ruining the life of a person. They'll never be the same because of what you did. Now magnify that by hundreds? Over two hundred. Hundreds of lives destroyed. And you're responsible. Could you sleep? Could you do it again? Would you do it again?

Would you purchase something from a company that practices this sort of behavior regularly?

I am a good judge of character. I can figure most people out in a few minutes. The first time I met Bob I could not understand how this man could exist with so much money. He is an A-1 psychopath. You cannot willingly do this much harm to so many people repeatedly and then look a 19 year old with a child in the eye and tell her "You will be paid tomorrow," when God Well knows you are about to take their money and fail them of rent, bills and groceries. How can anyone support a business like this?

Soon enough we will hear Bob's story of Jesus in the Market, and that this is the evil that brings down humanity. The capitalist tool that he's been using will eventually turn his story into martyrdom. That’s how delusional he is.

Bob is a smart man. He is not a wizard of the word, but he is able to talk so quickly, and say the right words, that sense be made and media be swayed. A lot of people have been hurt by this man's actions.

I've never checked the past on any of the companies I've worked for, and this must be an error. I've always trusted that every company I've worked for was honest.

Had I known that something like this could occur, I would have taken action. I would research specifically its leader, before taking the job.

If I had seen the pattern, I would have avoided this place just as I would faulty merchandise or objected morally to a company that contributes to something corrupt. I might have prevented myself from falling into a trap set unto hundreds of others before me.

I have a feeling that this time, things may turn out differently. I have a feeling that no one will work for him again.

I have a feeling that this one, last turnaround will fail, and the long line of strange businesses this man has built to rob trusting people of will will finally spin like an anther in the wind and destroy him. As investor 1 said, "Only invest with money you can lose." No one will lose again.

If that is personal, or objectionable to the management of this forum, please remove me. The Truth is what every consumer has the right to know. Every investor is obliged to know about the business model the invested provides. The courts will agree, and the swindled will return and Bob DeMaio will finally get what he deserves.

hey you are all smart people - just start your own company - show the world how easy it is. Just call a few friends and ask for money - think of your concept - and just go right on the internet. I'm sure you all have a clean slate with God and are perfect in every way. I'm sure you will get an endless amount of money and won't have to worry about hiring employees and never bouncing a single check and will have the perfect company in 3 yrs or less. Hey put Bill Gates out of business while you are at it. And be careful not to get any bad press as you go along. Go for it!!! But be sure to drive in a care like a Kia Sport - You wouldn't want to look too good or smart and rent a nice apartment in the lower side of Reno.

Jan-11-03 06:00
Your are either a Dot1web lackey or very stupid! Why do you think Dot1web is getting bad press? Do you thinks its alright for a company to layoff almost their entire company before Christmas, and not even have the decency to give them their last pay check!? Dot1web's only source of income is their ISP. They didn't even have enough business to keep us busy. But they still when out and hired more employees, thats pretty strange don't you think? The only thing keeping the business running was investor money. But Bob goes out and buys a new lamborghini, thats a little excessive don't you think? Where do you think Bobs money came from Dot1web wasn't making any? Oh, yeah and never bounce a check how about bouncing over half of your employees pay checks every pay period. Thats why employees went to the bank and cashed their pay checks they where afraid of not getting paid! Some people who where not laid-off had enough sense to quit after not getting paid for over three weeks. I'm sure that you would be understanding if your employer laid you off and refused to pay you. I'm sure that you wouldn't questions one thing that went on, or get even slightly suspicious. And you would think its not strange at all the this has happened before!

Quite the authority aren't you? OK. I'm impressed! : )

FYI: McNamara's wage claim was not only valid, the FINAL ORDER of the Labor Commission's decision was entered into OFFICIAL RECORD.

FINAL ORDER per NVLC result:
$4k in wages plus $6k in fines due McNamara.

In NV, the FINAL ORDER must be stamped by a Judge to be "in effect".

The underhanded stunt the Labor Commission pulled was after 3+ months of waitng his turn on the District Court docket (this is on top of the two years to get there) the Deputy Labor Commissioner jerked the case form the docket.

The NVLC claims there is a clause in the law books that allows a Deputy Labor Commissioner to use ahhh . . . "descretion" whether to prosecute the ORDER through the court.

The real question is, "Why would the Deputy do such a thing?"

I'm not doing all your homework for you.

You will find the answers that you seek @ the www.codedog.org/nv site grasshopper.

that all the non-intelligent comments/personal comments were wiped from this board (you can probably thank the person who posted phone numbers and addresses and who used th F word)......

have legitimate discussions about the legalities and so forth, and you can even voice your opinion, but i think the personal stuff can be kept out of it....anyone who has legitimate claims against bob or the company can find out all they need to know through the proper channels, and accusing him of f****** certain women isn't even relevant to any of this :P

They took a lot more then personal comments off the board, so I'll have to recap some of my posts that they erased. Here's the recap of Dot1web frauds...

1) 99% of all the auctions on lowestbids.com are fake. Here's how to tell a real auction one from a fake one. A real auction doesn't have any bids on it, and a fake auction is all ways just one dollar or cent below the sellers asking price, also the auction items has been listed on the site forever. Lowestbids is a ugly looking web site like all the dot1fraud web sites. Lowestbids.com is also the worst auction site on the net. I dare anyone to try to find one the sucks worse then this.

2) Dot1web merchants aren't really apart of the dot1web network. Data processors where hired to sign them up and make generic web sites for them. Supposedly they're going to contact them in the future, but 99% of them still have no idea they're business is listed on the dot1web network.

3) drive4u.com, Another phony business. Web site doesn't operate has no customers and knowingly participating limousine companies just like the merchants.

4) WWISP the only real service dot1web is offering, and its a crappy service at that. With probably still less then a thousand users 'Butthead' Bob demaio's Business model is a pie in the sky.

5) Their so called technology, the Lowestbids bid bar is useless. Who needs another calendar, you have one already on Outlook express. All it does is click a button and it takes you to their web site, and it only works with IE5.5 or higher.

There is nothing Earth shattering or ground breaking about dot1fraud network. All this adds up to is a lot of people getting screwed hard by 'Butthead' Bob Demaio.

PS
Don't give up fighting, people need to be contacted and told whats going on. Lets hit Butthead Bob Demaio where it hurts him the most, and make it as hard as possible for him to continue his scam/operation.

"But Patrick McNamara claims the Labor Commission dragged his request for back wages out for two years before killing his claim."

the only reason a commission would "kill" a claim is because it deemed it wasn't valid....

Hmmm....Actually guest, they can always re-open the case, and with the events of recent months, they just may. The invesigation of wage claims, will, from what I am told, be reviewed with all other past claims as well....;) Ah Shucks.

I think I will call and see why the claim was closed......

Letcha all know what they say....

And everyone with a wage claim.........call the labor board and ask them why McNamara's case was closed. Demand that they reconsider their position.

Pay?

Notice in today's Bonanza article that 'Deadbeat Bob' only said he would be calling EMPLOYEES today about paying them. He said absolutely nothing about the 100 or so EX-employees who haven't been paid for over a month or more in many, if not most, cases. Looks like typical Deadbeat DoubleTalk to me.

IF he were going to pay any of us, he would have just told the Bonanza where we should go to get our money, or a phone number to call, or something definitive rather than just more of his 'songs and dances.'

So, keep filing those Labor Commission claims, folks, keep asking the Commission what they're doing, and keep telling everyone you can that nothing has changed with "Deadbeat Bob."

I hope Hell has a particularly spiky barstool reserved for these people. What's with this personal-loans-diverted-to-5cent-shares bull%#%? There's something inherently wrong with a company when you give them money for personal loans, so the CEO can buyout outstanding shares. The only thing more indifferent to human suffering than Mother Nature is Dot1Web trying to go on the NASDAQ.

Way back when...Lowestbids had an injuction put against them by the Minnesota State Securities(I believe it was May of 2001)he could not sell any of his DIME SHARES in LOwBall.com-so he told a good majority of the investors that he wanted to buy out all of the investors in Lowestbids.com-to do this he asked them for a "PERSONAL LOAN" which either they could have their monies back with 10% interest after 6 months or shares in the "NEW COMPANY" aka dot1web at 5 cents a share-at this point neither of the two promises are being kept-nobody has recieved their "LOAN MONEY" back and have not recieved their "SHARES" in the "NEW COMPANY" at 5 cents-more promises unkept more promises to break.......

Within a week of being let go, I already had a better job, with the same rate of pay, full medical benefits (I paid 10 bucks for a prescription last week) paid vacation, and we actually produce something that people need and use.

No more lie lie lie. One time at dot1web I asked the CEO pipsqueek where our promised health insurance was, and if I should just go buy my own insurance. He lied to me and said "you'll be getting your insurance in a week, they're just busy working on it". This was another lie.

It was a great place to work until their stupid dress code and crazy hours were enforced. I don't know anyone who can work 50+ hours a week in a beautiful place like Tahoe, and still keep their relationships with their loved ones.

Seems like if you want to ruin yourself then go ahead and work work work.

Life is too short --- get a better job. Don't slave away for someone who gets rich riding on the shoulders of others.
