Country of immigrants
Any argument to stop immigration to the U.S., mentioning the possibility of depletion of water, space, and some type of American buffalo, is simply flawed. Howard Knudson, (Public Forum, Jan. 15) pleading to stop immigration, failed to recognize that this country is a country of immigrants, most of who came here to work, and as a result, have made this country the best place on Earth.
Once we decide to shut the doors, not letting others share the beauty of our country and its people's ideology of pursuing and promoting freedom, liberty and happiness in order to save the wilderness, we imprison ourselves in this vacant, yet meaningless piece of land.
