MOVIE REVIEW

STAR WARS: EPISODE I -

THE PHANTOM MANACE

What a terrible movie it was!

The plot was so basis. Yet it was made unnecessarily complicated.

The characters were so simple and boring. Qui-Gon Jinn was so plain that his appearance in almost every screen spoiled the movie. Obi-Wan Kenobi lacked charisma to be such a landmark character in other episodes. Jar Jar Binks was not funny or valuable in the movie in any way. Queen Amidala was so dull that even with her lavish hairdo and slow, emotionless dialogue she still looked insignificant. Anakin Skywalker did not seem genuine because of his make-believe, fabricated talents.

The movie had countless other useless, worthless characters such as Yoda, C-3PO, R2-D2, Darth Maul, Jabba the Hutt, and the part played by Samuel L. Jackson.

Other unnecessary parts in the movie were the underwater castles, the sea monsters, the pod race, and most importantly, the British-English accent.

The special effects were what the film-maker touted in the press. In real life, moviegoers could only recognize a handful of them.

At worst, I was offended, distracted, and bothered by all the weird creatures in the movie. At best, I was disappointed and quite angry for having paid a full ticket price for a feature film but receiving a semi-cartoon movie.
