Corine Tremblay Godin,born 1876.

Daughter of an Irish mother Edwidge Mc Cogan and a French Canadian Jean Baptiste Godin.
She studied to become a seamstress in high fashion. The dress she was wearing was one of her creations.
The dress was a very pale pink with black velvet collar and cuffs and white lace,
that she made to wear for this photograph.

Her husband was a conductor for the CN Railways, who died from the black plague at age 39, leaving her with 5 children to raise. She supported her children with her sewing skills.
One of the children died, and my father left at age 16 for the U.S. to get work to help support the family.

She worked and saved all her life. From her sewing and my father's help,
she managed to save enough money to buy a house, and a few luxuries, among which was a piano,
she was an accomplished pianist.
She died of breast cancer after a fall hitting an armoire.
