Double D is not a happy camper all local grocery stores are out of Mustard and collard greens, her two FAV. foods of all time. We are comprimisng and using spiniach she is eatting but you can tell from that look shes not happy about it. Today she decided to climb up the wall of her enclosure and got herself stuck between the enclousre and the back of her "house". We rescued her immediatly but boy was she looking pretty ticked off. Shes going through yet another shed and her tail is pretty white right now. I always look forward to tail sheds as with each tail shed and daily massage her previously twice amputated brown tail gets to be more and more green. WE have green spots now both under and abover her tail and the more tail massage and more sheds the more green we see. We are also now seeing "bumps" on her tail and back where her spikes should be, we are hoping that with the care she is recieving now some will return there is about 5 little spikes on her tail that are looking good so we are hopeful. If not well it just adds to her cute character.

Double D has not been herslef, She chocked on her food Saturday night to the point of needing to force her mouth open while my husband removed the food from her throat. She was chocking so bad that her tounge turned blue/purple. She hasn't been eatting right and just isnt herslef. Today was a vet appt where she was rewormed just incase, the vet didnt feel any masses or obstructions, her throat looked good, and her body structure was fine. The vet gave her a vitaimin shot to hopefully get her going again. Took blood work and we will have the results back Friday afternoon. Double d got the vet back by bleeding on his white coat. She seemed to really like him I guess she remembers hes the one that helped her when she was so abused.  All in all the vet appt went pretty good since I had to get all three girls up and double d into the vet at 8:20 am. Double d and the kids did really well. The vets office even gave the girls coloring books and allowed me to post date a check for two weeks. We are hoping that all the blood work comes back okay.

Its been a while since i've updated the site. Double D is doing wonderful. Shes a climbing nut. She spends hours just climbing all over her enclosure. She is now 28 inches long and has gained a bit of weight. We are still finly chopping her food as I did one tests time and she had a small chocking episode. I have decided that I dont want to chance it at all so from now till indefintly her food will be food processed to teeny tiny pieces. Shes just the same sweetie as always. The blood results that we got from the last time this site was updated showed very elivated sugar levels in her blood system. After several consults with other iguana expert we have made the choice to put her on an even more specialized diet, we have eliminated all fruits from her diet and are continually monitoring her. She also recived some BEAUTIFUL green polor fleece pillows from Diana that she has taken to. They are HER pillows and she lets you know it. She sleeps on them, moves them where she wants them, and dares you to take her pillows.
