Spot Light on Edd
...not that Edd'll like it there...!
"Smile!"
Okay, so I'm here to spill the beans (that's if I have that much beans to spill) about our favorite boy genius. Chances are you know more than I do first hand, considering I don't have cable, but I've learned a lot online and if you're like me it'll prove most informative. That's right I don't have cable (sfx *crowd gasping*) and I personaly don't see anything amazing about that but a certain friend of mine thinks I'm a poor deprived child. Of course, another friend of mine thinks I'm a sad little girl... but I digress. Anyhoo, I  haven't seen an episode of Ed, Edd n Eddy for a long time.....but that's another story, and, what is this, Spot Light on Kkate? I don't think so, so let's get back to Double-D, shall we?

Biography of Edward Chapter 1: Proluge

Once upon a time, there was a cul-de-sac called Peach Creek, and on this cul-de-sac lived a boy named Edward. Edd, or Double-D as he was called, was very intellectual and enjoyed science, studying bugs, and doing things most narrow-minded people would consider nerdy. One summer when he was 12 years old and was friends with two other Eds, namely Ed and Eddy, a TV show was made about them by a crazy group called a.k.a Cartoons. ....... And that's Edd's life in a nut-shell as we know it. Now it is time to dissect that too-advanced brain of his and see what makes him tick-- err, um, just see about him. Yeeaaah..

Chapter 2: Many Attributes Under One Hat

For starters, it's definently safe to say Edd's a round character (literary term-you know what I mean!) and has many attributes that make him what he is. He's definently kind and sensitive (things I wish I saw more often in boys). It's obvious he doesn't really enjoy scamming people as much as Eddy does- whoa, what I am saying?! Nobody enjoys scamming people as much as Eddy does...What I meant to say is that while he helps Eddy out with his scams (anything in the name of science, I guess) he's always willing (and almost always has to) give the kids their money back.  There always seems to be an underlying sense of reluctence in him whenever helping Eddy out, either just the idea of the whole scamming thing, knowing Eddy's going to get ahead of himself and ruin everything anyway, or just the fact that Ed could sponteneously do something unsanitary at any moment, it's not quite clear (though I suspect all three).

Now, him being sensitive could mean a number of things, namely emotionally and physically. He's timid, easily wound up into a bundle of nerves, and has several acute fears. There was the "dodge-ball incident," rendering him scared out of his wits when shown having to play it with Eddy, and he doesn't have to do PE because of it. There's also his stage fright, he just kind of melts away.. Major unsanitary-ness
definently can freak him out. ("It's a tub of gravy!")
Anything naturally a bit nerve-racking will almost
always frighten him double-fold... Hey, double has a
new meaning in his name! Anyhoo, physical weakness
is shown in the dodgeball thing and also in the episode,
"Tag Yer Ed," which Eddy gets frustrated with
Edd's wimpiness (though Eddy isn't exactly Mr. Athlete
himself!).

Chapter 3: All In Spare Time

Yes, Edd has hobbies. Hobbies hobbies hobbies. What, you thought he didn't? Crazy people... Basically, Edd's main interests are science. He has an ant farm he enjoys observing, he also collects bugs, especialy butterflies, and likes telescopes and various things you do with them. He also enjoys inventing things, be it a jet pack or bubble gum. Handy handy handy, especially when Eddy needs Edd to invent something for a scam. Now, considering cleanliness a hobby is up to you (it's more of a obsession for Edd), but he's very neat and clean and practices this attribute a lot. He's labeled everything in his room (perhaps he'll forget which is the "chair" and which is the "wall"), he hates things that are unsanitary, messy messy messy. While we're on the topic of obsessions, I'll grace the topic of his hat. Yes, that darn sock that he refusing to take off, and gets quite irritated when the others try to take it off. Supposedly he has some horrific secret under it (oh, how we are taunted!). I'd think he'd know that wearing a hat 24/7 will kill your hair follicles, but perhaps that's not an issue important enough..?   Oh, yes, and then there's his pedal steele guitar, which he's quite skilled at. Quite intriguing...

Chapter 4: Pre-teen Heart-throb

"Oh dear..." Yes, that's what poor Edd would say if only he knew how many girls would really like to, uh, get to know him. Poor guy has enough girl troubles already, not only does he have the self-esteem of a rock around them, but him, Ed, n Eddy are always having to escape from the Kankers. Nonetheless, if I was rooming with Edd I'd probably have to beat girls off with a stick for him everyday. It seems Edd lovers have found in him things rarely shown by guys: sensitive, sincere, and opening frightened. Personally, I like weaker guys like him, very masculine guys are one of my turn-offs. I'd go with cutie over hunky anyday..hee hee... but *ahem* if you want to learn more about this intriguing little issue, you can go to

So that's how I see him. But I want to know what else YOU see in him, too!
That's right, I'm offering YOU the chance to write a short little interpertation of Double D, either why you like him, why you really like him, or what ever you see in him and I'll post it in a special section. Just send your description with the kitty below. And, dare I have to say this, keep it clean...

"Static electricity can be quite humbling...
...can't it, Eddy?"
