By the time of Alexander the Great the dominance of the Children of Israel under King David has come and gone.  Daniel the Prophet foretold of Alexander the Great conquering as far east as modern day Afghanistan as well as what is now Egypt.  Alexander was not Greek but was a Macedonian, having been born in Thessalonica to Philip of Macedon.  He was impressed with the learning of his tutor Aristotle and took along scientists with him to collect specimens of plant and animal life, recording what they found.  He was responsible for the Hellenization of the land he conquered.  Alexandria, Egypt is named after him and it was here the Greek version of the TNK was translated by the Seventy.  The Turks remained the same for the most part.  Homer was a Greek and born in what is now Anatolia.  Many of the great thinkers that are called Greek were born in what is now modern day Turkey.
