AC/DC Comics?

London –
Do you remember the suspicions about Bruce Wayne and his trusty ward, Dick Grayson stemming from the fact that they cohabitated and wore tights and capes at night?  Do you recall Wonder Woman being suspected of being a lesbian because she dwelled on an island full of Amazons?  Well, cast those thoughts aside because soon there will be a comic book that relates the tales of two openly gay superheroes.  The Authority will follow the escapades of Apollo and Midnighter a couple of guys that live in a spaceship orbiting Earth.

The author of this comic originates from Scotland and has raised the ire of Cardinal Thomas Winning, Archbishop of Glasgow.

“This sounds like an insidious attempt to present homosexual role models for adolescents.  Adolescence is a challenging time and this kind of activity is only going to increase confusion and undermine basic Christian morality,” he said in a way reminiscent of Dan Quayle on Murphy Brown or Jerry Falwell on Tinky Winky and certainly funnier than anything that could be written.

Apollo and Midnighter are seeking a court injunction against their creator, Miller.  “He said that he would never tell,” whined Midnighter or Midnightie, as he is known to the other superheroes.  “We are like way peeved at him for outing us.”

Apollo, equally stunted by the revelation added, “We may have to orbit another planet in our spaceship if this comic is released!  Hey, what about Uranus?  I can’t imagine what Superman will do if he finds out that he showered with us at the Justice League of America a few weeks ago.”

It is expected that, before long, Jerry Falwell will be all over this announcement like a bad smell.  Keep an eye out for him to top everyone with his misconceptions of the world’s first homosexual superheroes.

Cardinal fears gay superheroes but not pretend gods

Long overdue to make ass of self, again
