As I got to know Fr Ray Brennan I came to realize that under the bluff, funny Chicago front there was that rarest of individuals, a proper Christian. Fr. Ray obeyed the commandments and the teachings of jesus because he could not do otherwise. His faith, and his real love of his fellow man, was as much a part of his being as his red blood cells. And as his blood nourished his body, so his faith nourished his spirit, enabling him to give, give again, and then give more to Thailand, the Thai people, and especially to the poorest, the prisoners, the defenceless, the disabled and of course, above all, to the children. We have been privileged to meet a great man and call him our friend and leader: our obligation now is to give him the only memorial he cared for, by continuing his work for Thailand and her poorest citizens.
