ARISE FROM THORNS (USA)“Before an Audience of Stars” (2001)[DARK SYMPHONIES]
First of all this CD is not their new album but the re-release of their 2nd self-financed CD “Before an Audience of Stars” featuring also 2 exclusive tracks and an unplugged live song.
The vocalist Michelle have a so incredible warm voice that, knowing or not the band, this will be enough for buying this album.
It’s not really music for ultra brutal metal heads but lots of listeners into the more depressive side of music, metal or not, will appreciate their melancholic prog/folk rock.
Music and vocals are not the only beautiful aspect of this album: a marvellous layout made by M. Riddick of The Soil Bleeds Black will enchant you.
Waiting for a new release of this band under the new moniker Brave, I deeply advice you “Before an Audience of Stars” to get in touch with their gently music. You will often choose it as your discreet friend both in the grey depressive autumnal days while laying on the bed and reading a book and in windy sunny spring days which show the deeply blue of the sky while driving far with the car through desert streets. Now, their music is telling me to reach an isolated place where I’ll rest under the shadow of an old tree, waiting the night to see the shooting-stars.
