"Hate them"
Thanks to Fenriz and Nocturno Culto to hate all the trendy shit out on the market under the appearance of a CD format and therefore to still produce hateful exceptional black metal. This as introduction of their new extreme release called “Hate them”.
If you are fond of the slaughterous feelings this supreme band has always been able to scream around the world trough their incomparable raw black metal for more than a decade, well, I don’t really need to add any words to describe this new excellent release. If you don’t…well, I won’t really spend any words for you!!!!
Darkthrone don’t know half measures: just love them (as I do) or hate them!

“Plague Weilder” [Moonfog]
Holidays was coming to the unavoidable end when I gladly read about a forthcoming Darkthrone new album: no better way to start the imminent autumn in the sign of the most gloomy and rough sound. This was my first tought while the second ones was to put this CD on the top’s list of CDs I should check out once home. Luckily or better thank to Moonfog I didn’t need to extend the tedious waiting: Plague Weilder was surprisingly waiting me home. Perhaps, I don’t need to tell you I listen it immediately, anyway you need to know I liked “plague Weilder” at once.
In spite of this, it’s not that easy to review this or any other release of my favourite black metal band from ever. In any case, I do believe that not only the fans of Darkthrone will agree with my words after listen to their new effort.
PW is 10 years far in time from the cult releases “Under a funeral moon” and “Transilvania Hunger” both in production than in the more a tad complex and matured songwriting still grim as only Darkthrone can be. “Raining murder”, “I, Vodhanger” and “Wreak” with primitive rockish guitar riffs and mighty drums tempo and the original ideas as i.e. the thundering drums in the opener track (which I personally find an ingenious initiative) show that in “Plague Weilder” Darkthrone were able to don’t repeat themselves without lose their raw trademark. On the other hand, their last superb release is more direct than the previous “Ravishing Grimness”: songs as “Sin origin” and “Command” are just the most raw tunes you can ask for.
Just put “Plague Weilder” on your top’s CD list and you won’t be disappointed.

"Preparing for War" (2000) [PEACEVILLE RECORDS]
Three are the main reasons why I find this collection CD a good idea. First of all, totally authorized CD like such a “Preparing for war” collection CD should hopefully stop all the ugly and illegal productions have been released in all these years about this cult Norwegian band that has been spreading around the obscure “black death” from 1349 opss…1986. Then, all the fans & collectors which was really willing for listen some of the old and rare works will be satisfied with songs like “Snowfall” taken from the “A New Dimension” demo and “Archipelago” taken from the other demo “Thulcandra” and an old live recording in Oslo during their exhibition in 1989. Third, “Preparing for War” comes with a really special and obscure layout also featuring old pictures plus notes written by Fenriz himself.
To me this should be enough and you will probably find even other reasons to get this…
