DEATH (USA) "The sound of perseverance" (1998) [NUCLEAR BLAST]
About Death every albums is a good investment. Their sound (or better I should say the sound of Chuck Schuldiner & members) is technically perfect since many albums but every time they realise a new one it seems to be more perfect than the previous one! "The sound of Perseverance" (no title should have been more suitable the their sound) is the right continuation of the long and honourable band's story. The complexity is another sign of their technical skills: in the same song, as for example "Spirit crusher" they easily change between wide and mighty mid-tempo and fast ones. Naturally all is stuffed by the excellent more & more sharp vocals of Mr. Schuldiner. To me all this should be enough but the band gives us another present: the cover of Painkiller" by Judas Priest.
