ETERNAL TEARS OF SORROW (FIN)
"Chaotic Beauty" (2000) [SPINEFARM]
In despite of the title their music is varied but not “chaotic”, nevertheless the band focus their sound into melodic death metal with some black metal influences in the use of the scream vocals and large employ of keyboards. As mostly of the bands which choose to play this style they’re really skilled musicians: fans of Dark Tranquillity and Children of Bodom couldn’t lose this. By the way, the charming layout is made by Niklas Sundin himself. Another “famous” guest is Kimberly Goss who appears as singer in "Bride of the Crimson Sea" and other few parts which, in my opinion, are a bit pointless. On the contrary, I really appreciated the equal sporadic use of charismatic male spoken parts.
I can’t forget to talk about the really original cover (finally a good one!) of Edge of Sanity “Black Tears” where E.T.O.S. use keyboards instead than the guitar solo: brillant!
