DEPRESSION (GER) “Chronicle Depression” (2000) [DEADLY ART]52.17"
Brutal/grind fans out there have to check this CD out: it will really suit their collection.
First of all this is a 10-year anniversary CD and you can easily understand the decennial experience of this band in listening to “Chronicle Depression”: more than 50 minutes of brutality! The CD contains news songs, including some more groovy guitar riffs, as well as, as a bonus for the fans, one song from each old Depression’s releases in all these years: I was impressed by "I remember my future" that is strongly more in the US death metal vein but the oldest songs' recordings are really not good and the style is sometimes ultra-grind or too “weird”...not exactly my cup of tea!
Fans of Mortician will be instead glad to listen to the cover of “Bloodcraving” while Macabre’s followers will get crazy for the vocals!
Last but not least, there’s a surprised for people who believe bands into brutal stuff can’t play “dark” and depressive tunes and also use gloomy clean vocals: well, I advice this people to listen to the “Depressionen”. This solitary song will be a sufficient reason to buy the CD: it’s so clever they used this song in the midst of totally brutal ones!
