FALL OF THE LEAFE (FIN)

“August Wernicke” (2000) [ICARUS] 52.04”
This album is surely for all you fans of NWOSDM but not only as it’s one of those outstanding albums that deserves to be in every collection. Fall of the Leafe plays melodic death metal with a really “gentle” touch: the fall of the leaf!
The album turns out to be really fresh and more I listen to more I like it: the production is really crystalline and every track is very well -built. Moreover, the band uses the most characteristic elements of the melodic death metal in a proper and creative way. These ones are also well alternated with splendid and distinctive “overtures”, passages and mid-tempos. Personally I was also amazed by the use of the clean vocals which give to their music an evocative and melancholic touch as, for example, in “I feathe to the Jumper”: a pale memory of the affecting Novembre’s notes like a ghost skimmed my thoughts: sublime!
Really an excellent work for this Finnish band and for the argentine neo-label Icarus. Order a copy now through:
