GRAVE FLOWERS (SWE)
This is Matte (Godgory)’s project band. The new promo contains only 3 tracks which anyway give me a clear idea of the band’s aim: to sound depressive but sorrowfully beauty like a sad marble statue emerging in a isolated cemetery. Of course I don’t need to tell you the band’s name goes straight to this point as well as lyrics which follow the same path trough old graves, sometimes a bit too delicate for my hermetic predilection, still always words of a sad beauty dawn view.
Grave Flowers is able to evocate an inner sadness in a really personal way. Suggestive clean vocals and suitable keyboards take the band far from the doom vein but still you should have clear in mind that other elements like i.e. heavy guitars, tough drums and slow tempos also takes (luckily) GF thousand miles far from the gothic rock trendy business.
