THE EMBRACED (NOR) "In my dreams... I am Armageddon" (1998) [AFTERMATH MUSIC] Playing time: 55.31"
This promising band comes from the enchanting Trondheim's city but the interesting music they propose to us is not black metal as you probably imagine, indeed it is a really good Swedish(!) death metal that, especially about the vocals, reminds me the "never forgotten" At The Gates: it is fast and mighty music with a melodic touch by using female vocals, enchanting acoustic guitar intro in most of the songs, acoustic intermezzi and tempo's variations as in "The Demon Storm" and "Autumn leaves" songs, giving a fresh touch of originality to their sound. Probably this is the main reason why the Swedish label Invasion Records decided to produce their new album out soon, probably in the end of 1999. If you are familiar with the Sunlight's sound, you will surely be enthusiastic of "In my dreams... I am Armageddon" too. Really great work!
