CAIRNS (continued)

Journey to the Great Barrier Reef

For our last day in Australia, we boarded a boat run by Great Adventures Cruises. Our first stop was at Green Island, where we had a couple hours to wander around the island and explore the white coral beaches.

Then it was onto the outer Great Barrier Reef. We were brought to a anchored pontoon where we had the afternoon to snorkel, sunbathe, eat, and ride in a semi-submersible sub.

The water was unbelievably clear, and I could see multicolored coral and fish every direction that I swam.

Every direction bought a new view of a canyon of coral or some new brightly colored fish.

Who is that Masked Man? My brother Rick enjoys his first adventure snorkeling!

Snorkeling at the Great Barrier Reef was one of the most amazing experiences of my life and was a fitting climax to our travels downunder.
