Ever since this place opened, I've had my eye on visiting this institution. The San Diego trip gave us the opportunity to visit this jewel on top of the hill overlooking the Los Angeles sprawl. After landing in San Diego, we made our way North on the 5 and 405 towards the Center. Trip took 131 miles and about 3 hours, a miraculous amount of time considering the congestion that was characteristic of L.A. freeways. The tollroad, carpool lanes, and the GPS Navigation system courtesy of Hertz certainly helped.

Looking Southeast at the nearby Century City and the distant downtown L.A. Locals will know this is an amazing shot because clear days are rare.
