Herb Oyster Crackers
2 (12 ounce) packages oyster crackers
1 (1 ounce) package ranch dressing mix
1/2 teaspoon dried dill weed
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon lemon pepper
1 cup vegetable oil
Directions
1 Place crackers in a large plastic bag. Season with dressing mix,
dill weed, garlic powder and lemon pepper. Pour in the oil, close bag
and shake vigorously until the crackers are covered with seasoning.
Cajun Sweet Dough
3/4 cup room temperature, unsalted butter
1 1/3 cups white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 egg
4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk
Directions
1 Sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
2 In a separate bowl, beat the butter, then add the sugar a little at
a time. Add the vanilla. Beat the mixture until it is nice and
fluffy. Beat in the egg. Stir in the flour mixture alternately with
the milk.
3 Before you use this dough, be sure you chill it well at least 2
hours or even overnight.
Buttered Cornsticks(30 minutes or less)
2-2/3 c.biscuit/baking mix1 can(8-1/2 oz) cream style corn
1/4 cup butter or marg.,melted
In a bowl,combine biscuit mix and corn,Stir until soft dough forms.Knead on a lightly floured surface for 3 minutes.Roll into a 10 x 6 inch rectangle.Cut into 3inch by 1 inch strips.Dip in butter.Place in an ungreased 15x10x1 inch baking pan.Bake at 425' for 12-15 minutes or till golden brown.YIELD:About 20 breadsticks.
Baked Corn
1 (15.25 ounce) can whole kernel corn, drained
1 (14.75 ounce) can cream-style corn
1 (8 ounce) container sour cream
1 cup melted butter
2 eggs, beaten
1 (8.5 ounce) package dry corn muffin mix
Directions
1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2 Combine the whole-kernel corn, cream-style corn, sour cream, melted
butter or margarine, eggs and corn muffin mix. Mix well and pour into
one 9x13 inch baking pan.
3 Bake for 35 to 45 minutes.
Mom's Butter Tarts
1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch single crust pie
2/3 cup butter
1 cup golden syrup
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 1/2 cups raisins
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
Directions
1 Line three inch tart tins with pastry. Chill while making filling.
2 Melt butter. Stir in golden syrup, brown sugar, raisins, nutmeg,
and salt; mix thoroughly. Let mixture cool. Beat the eggs just
sufficiently to combine yolks and whites, and then mix into the
butter syrup. Pour filling into pastry lined tart tins. Set tins on a
cookie sheet.
3 Bake on lowest rack in very hot preheated oven, 450 degrees F (230
degrees C), for 15 to 20 minutes. When baked, loosen edges with
pointed knife. Allow tarts to stand for at least 10 minutes before
removing from tins.
French Toasted English Muffins
4 eggs
1/2 c.half and half
2 TBLS.sugar
1/2 tsp.vanilla extract
6 english muffins,split
1/4 c.butter or marg
Maple syrup
In a small mixing bowl,beat eggs.Add cream,sugar and vanilla,mix well.Soak muffins cut side down iin eggg mixture for 1 minute;turn and dip the other side just until moistened.In a large skillet,melt butter.Fry muffins cut side down,for 2-3 minutes or till golden brown.Turn and cook 2-3 minutes longer or till golden.Serve with syrup.Yield:6 servings.
Holiday French Toast( KIDS ,TRY THIS ITS SOOOO EASY!!!)

2 Cups eggnog
8 slices day old bread
Pour eggnog into a shallow bowl,dip both sides of bread in eggnog.In a nonstick skillet,cook bread over medium heat for 2 minutes on each side or till golden brown.If you want a fun look to your french toast,cut your french toast diagnally so you have triangles.Sprinkle them with green colored sugar and powdered sugar over top of that.Layer them on a platter overlapping to look like a pine tree points up on top.Then use cooked sausage links for the trunk.2 should be wide enough for the tree trunk.If u want more color,add an orange slice up near the tree top for the sun and some herbs at the bottom of your tree,for the grass.Now you have a festive and fun breakfast.
Applesauce-Nut Bread
1 egg, beaten
1 cup applesauce
2 tablespoons butter, melted
2 cups flour
3/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
3 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup nuts, chopped
In a large bowl combine egg, applesauce and butter. In a medium-sized bowl
sift the flour, sugar, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda and salt
together. Add to egg mixture. Mix well. Stir in the nuts. Pour into a
well-greased loaf pan. Bake at 350-degrees for 45 minutes or until done.
Strawberry Bread
3 c. all-purpose flour
4 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. baking soda
2 c. sliced frozen strawberries, thawed
1 tsp. salt
1 T. cinnamon
1 1/2 c. vegetable oil
2 c. sugar
1 1/4 c. pecans
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Sift dry ingredients together. Combine
eggs, strawberries and oil and add to sifted ingredients. Add pecans.
Pour into 2 well greased loaf pans. Bake for about one hour or until
a toothpick comes out clean. Cool in pan for 5 minutes, then cool on
wire rack.
Chocolate Zucchini Bread
1 c. oil
2 tsp. soda
2 eggs
1/4 tsp. baking powder
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 c. grated zucchini
1 T. cinnamon
2 tsp. vanilla extract
3 heaping T. cocoa powder
2 1/2 c. plain flour
1 c. chopped nuts
Combine oil and eggs; mix well. Add sugar, vanilla, and dry
ingredients. Stir in nuts. Spray 2 loaf pans with vegetable spray.
Pour batter into pans and bake at 350 degrees for 50 to 60 minutes or
until tests done.
