Friendship Fudge
2 cups packed brown sugar
2/3 cup evaporated milk
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
1 cup crunchy peanut butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Butter or margarine to grease pan
Butter one 8 inch pan and set aside. In a saucepan mix brown sugar,
evaporated milk and salt. Cook over low heat and stir until
boiling. Boil for 3 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in chocolate
chips, peanut butter and vanilla. Mix until smooth. Pour fudge into
pan. Refrigerate 4 hours or until firm. Cut into squares. Share
with a friend!
Friendship Cake
1 c greetings
1/2 c smiles
1 lg hug
2/3 c love
1 ts sympathy
2 c hospitality
Preparation:
Cream greeting and smiles thoroughly. Add hugs separately. Slowly
stir in love. Sift sympathy and hospitality and fold in carefully.
Bake in warm heart. Serve often.
FRIENDSHIP FRUITCAKE
-PREPARE FRUIT FOR CAKES-
1 1/2 c Starter
2 1/2 c Sugar
1 cn Sliced peaches; 28-oz can
2 c Sugar
1 cn Pineapple chunks - 20-oz can
2 c Sugar
1 cn Fruit cocktail; 28-oz can
1 sm Jar Maraschino cherries
-CAKES-
1 pk Yellow Cake mix without - pudding; OR
1 pk Butter Flavored Yellow Cake mix
2/3 c Oil
4 Eggs
1 pk Instant vanilla pudding mix
Fruit mixture; 1/3 rd
1/2 c Nuts; chopped, optional
You need a gallon container with lid for this recipe.
First day.
Mix starter, 2 1/2 cups sugar and peaches. Stir on days 2, 3, 4, 5,
6, 7, 8, and 9.
Tenth day. Add 2 cups sugar and pineapple chunks. Cover. Stir on
days 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, and 19.
Twentieth day. Add 2 cups sugar, fruit cocktail and cherries. Cover
and stir. Stir on days 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, and 29.
Thirtieth day. Drain juice from fruit and divide fruit into 3 equal
parts. Divide juice into five 1 1/2 cups portions and give to
friends. Use starter within 5 days. The fruit mixture will make 3
cakes.
To Make Cake.
Mix cake mix, oil, eggs and pudding on low speed of mixer. Batter
will be thick. Add fruit and nuts. Bake in well greased and
floured Bundt or tube pan. Bake 45-60 minutes, depending on oven, in
350 degrees oven. Cool in pans completely before removing.
None of the recipe should be refrigerated while brewind. Cakes may be
refrigerated for 2 weeks or frozen up to 2 years. DO NOT freeze juice.
Amish Friendship Chocolate Bread
Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup white sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 (6 serving) package instant chocolate pudding mix
1 cup Amish Friendship Bread Starter
1 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup milk
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions
1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease two
9x5 inch loaf pans.
2 In a large mixing bowl, stir together all-purpose flour, sugar,
baking powder, baking soda, salt, chocolate pudding. Make a well in
the center of this mixture. Add Amish friendship bread starter,
vegetable oil, milk, eggs and vanilla extract; mix well. Pour batter
into prepared loaf pans.
3 Bake in preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into center of
the loaf comes out clean, about 60 minutes. Cool on a wire rack for
10 minutes before removing from pan.
Amish Friendship Bread

1-1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup Amish Friendship Bread Starter
3 eggs
2/3 cup vegetable oil
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 cup chopped walnuts
2 apples - peeled, cored and finely chopped
Directions
1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly
grease two 9x5 inch loaf pans. Sift together flour, sugar,
baking powder, cinnamon, baking soda and salt, set aside
2 In a large mixing bowl, stir together the Amish
Friendship Starter, eggs, oil and vanilla. Gradually stir in the
sifted ingredients until just blended. Finally stir in the
chopped nuts and apples. Divide the batter evenly between the
two prepared pans.
3 Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes, or until a
toothpick inserted into the center of a loaf comes out clean
Amish Friendship Apple Bread
Note: this variation requires the basic Amish starter
1 1/2 cup sugar
3/4 cup oil
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups flour
2 teaspoons cinnamon
2 eggs
1 cup Amish starter*
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
FOLD IN BY HAND :
1 cup chopped nuts
3 cups diced fresh apples
Pour into 2 well greased loaf pans. Bake at 375 degrees F 50-60
minutes.
