Pizza Pinwheels
1 (8 ounce) can refrigerated crescent roll dough
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
24 slices sliced pepperoni sausage
1 (14 ounce) can pizza sauce
Directions
1 Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
2 On a large baking sheet, pinch the 8 crescent roll dough triangles
into 4 rectangles. Layer each rectangle with 6 pepperonis and even
amounts of mozzarella cheese. Roll tightly lengthwise and slice each
into 4 or more pieces.
3 Bake in the preheated oven 12 minutes. or until golden brown. Serve
with pizza sauce for dipping.
Taco Cornbread Pizza
1 (8.5 ounce) package corn muffin mix
1 pound ground beef
1 (1.25 ounce) package TACO BELL HOME ORIGINALS Taco Seasoning Mix
1 (8 ounce) package KRAFT Shredded Cheddar Cheese, divided
Directions
1 Prepare corn muffin mix as directed on package. Spread batter into
greased 12-inch pizza pan. Bake at 400 degrees F for 8 to 10 minutes
or until lightly browned.
2 Brown meat; drain. Add Seasoning Mix and 3/4 cup water; prepare as
directed on package. Sprinkle 1 cup cheese over baked crust. Top with
meat mixture and remaining cheese.
3 Bake 4 to 5 minutes or until cheese is melted. Serve with your
favorite taco toppings such as shredded lettuce, TACO BELL HOME
ORIGINALS Thick 'N Chunky Salsa and BREAKSTONE'S or KNUDSEN Sour
Cream.
Mexican Pizza I
1 (16 ounce) can refried beans
1 pound ground beef
1 (1.25 ounce) package taco seasoning mix
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
4 (6 inch) corn tortillas
8 ounces shredded Cheddar cheese
8 tablespoons sour cream
2 roma (plum) tomatoes, chopped
2 green onion, chopped
1 (4 ounce) can diced green chiles, drained
1/2 avocado, diced
1 tablespoon black olives, sliced
Directions
1 Heat the refried beans.
2 In a large skillet, brown the ground beef. Stir in the seasoning
packet.
3 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
4 Place a small amount of vegetable oil in a large skillet. Let the
oil heat, then place one corn tortilla in the skillet. After 15
seconds, flip the tortilla over and let it fry another 15 seconds.
Repeat this process with the remaining tortillas, letting them drain
on paper towels once they have been heated. When the tortillas have
drained, arrange them on a cookie sheet.
5 Spread a thin layer of beans on the tortillas, followed by a layer
of beef, and cheese.
6 Bake the tortillas in the preheated oven for 20 to 30 minutes.
Slice the tortillas into wedges and arrange them on plates or a
serving platter and garnish them with the sour cream, tomatoes, green
onions, chiles, avocado, and olives. Makes 4 pizzas
Mini Pizzas
1 pound ground beef
1 pound fresh, ground pork sausage
1 onion, chopped
10 ounces processed American cheese, cubed
32 ounces cocktail rye bread
Directions
1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2 In a large skillet, brown ground beef and sausage.
3 Mix onion into the sausage and beef mixture, and saute it until
tender. Drain grease out of skillet. Stir processed cheese food into
the mixture. Continue cooking until cheese melts. Arrange slices of
bread on a cookie sheet, place heaping spoonfuls of the mixture onto
each slice of bread.
4 Bake 12 to 15 minutes. Makes 20 servings
Rye Bread Party Pizzas
1 pound ground beef
1 pound ground pork sausage
1 pound processed cheese food
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon ketchup
1 (1 pound) loaf cocktail rye bread
Directions
1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a medium baking
sheet with aluminum foil.
2 Place ground beef and ground pork sausage in a large, deep skillet.
Cook over medium high heat until evenly brown. Drain and set aside.
3 Place processed cheese food in a large, microwave safe bowl.
Microwave on high 3 to 4 minutes, or until processed cheese food is
melted.
4 Into the bowl with melted processed cheese food, mix Worcestershire
sauce and ketchup. When thoroughly blended, mix in beef and pork.
5 Place approximately 2 tablespoons of the mixture on each slice of
cocktail rye bread.
6 Arrange cocktail rye bread slices in a single layer on the prepared
baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven 10 to 15 minutes, or until
lightly browned and crisp. Makes 15 servings
Upside Down Pizza
1 pound lean ground beef
1 onion, chopped
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 (26 ounce) jar spaghetti sauce
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese, divided
1 (8 ounce) can refrigerated crescent rolls
Directions
1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2 Brown beef, onion and garlic in a large saucepan over medium high
heat. Once browned, drain fat and stir in spaghetti sauce.
3 In a 9x13 inch baking dish, spread a layer of sauce. Top with 1/2
of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses, another layer of sauce and
the rest of the cheese. Top with crescent rolls, pinching seams
together.
4 Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 30 minutes, or until rolls are
golden brown.
Mexican Pizza II
8 ounces ground beef
3/4 cup water
1 (1.25 ounce) package ORTEGA ® Taco Seasoning Mix
1 (16 ounce) can ORTEGA ® Refried Beans, divided
1 package (10) ORTEGA ® Tostada Shells
2 cups SARGENTO ® Nacho & Taco Blend Shredded Cheese, divided
Toppings: shredded lettuce, chopped tomatoes, sliced ripe olives,
sliced avocado, chopped fresh cilantro, sliced green onions, sour
cream, guacamole, whole kernel corn, black beans, ORTEGA® Thick &
Chunky Salsa
Directions
1 BROWN beef; drain. Stir in water and seasoning mix. Bring to a
boil. Reduce heat to low; cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 to 6
minutes or until mixture is thickened.
2 SPREAD 2 tablespoons beans over each tostada shell. Top with 1/2
cup meat mixture and 1/4 cup cheese. Broil for 1 to 2 minutes or
until cheese is melted. Garnish with desired toppings. Makes 10 servings
Mexican Pizza III
1 pound ground beef
1 (1 ounce) package taco seasoning mix
2/3 cup water
2 (16 ounce) cans refried beans
4 (10 inch) flour tortillas
2 cups shredded Monterey Jack cheese
2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
2 tablespoons sour cream
1 tomato, diced
1 avocado - peeled, pitted and sliced
1 (2 ounce) can sliced black olives
2 chopped green onions
Directions
1 Place ground beef in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium high
heat until evenly brown. Drain and stir in taco seasoning mix and
water. Mix in the refried beans; set aside.
2 Spread the beef mixture evenly on two tortillas. Top each tortilla
with a second tortilla. Place even amounts of Monterey Jack cheese
and Cheddar cheese on top of the second tortillas. Place the
tortillas onto a large baking sheet.
3 Bake in the preheated oven 10 minutes, or until cheeses are melted.
4 Remove from oven and top with sour cream, tomato, avocado, black
olives and green onions. Cut each pizza into 8 wedges and serve warm.Makes 8 servings
Party Pizzas
1 pound ground beef
1 pound fresh, ground spicy pork sausage
4 ounces processed American cheese
1 dash hot pepper sauce
16 ounces cocktail rye bread
Directions
1 Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
2 Brown the ground beef and sausage together in a large skillet and
drain well.
3 Cut the processed cheese into small cubes and add to the meat
mixture. Cook over low heat, stirring frequently, until the cheese
melts. Stir in hot pepper sauce to taste. Spread a layer of the meat
and cheese mixture on slices of party rye bread. Arrange the slices
on an ungreased cookie sheet.
4 Bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 15 to 20 minutes, or
until browned. Serve warm. Makes 15 servings
Pinwheel pizza loaf
2 eggs
salt and pepper to taste
3 lbs.lean ground beef
6 thin slices deli ham
2c.(8oz)shredded mozzarella cheese
1 jar(14oz)pizza sauce
In a large bowl,beat the eggs,salt and pepper.Crumble beef over the eggs and mix well.On a piece of heavy duty foil,pat beef mix into a12x10 in rectangle.Cover with ham and cheese to within 1/2 in. of edges.Roll up jelly-roll style,starting with short side and peeling away foil while rolling.Seal seam and ends.Place the loaf seam side down in a greased 9x13x2 baking dish.Top with pizza sauce.Bake,uncovered at 350' for 1-1/4 hrs or till meat is no longer pink and meat thermometer reads 160'Let stand for 10 minutes before slicing.YIELD:12 SERVINGS.
