The Final Showdown

Quick Analysis
If you doubled the life bar to red honeycombs, this battle shouldn't be too bad. If you unlocked the GOLDFEATHERS spell from Cheato and got 20 gold feathers, this'll be a walk in the park. Otherwise, get ready for an extremely frustrating battle. Don't forget the infinite loop with the 1-Up on the window ledge in the Overworld. Now let's get ready to rumble.

Hit and Run, Not Real Fun
-Problem: The flying Gruntilda is trying too run me over with her broomstick!
-Solution: Think like a matador and run to one side each time she comes through. Repeat this until she stalls the broomstick. Run behind the broomstick and Rat-a-Tat Attack it (press B while jumping).
-Win With Style: It's possible to score mulltiple hits by shooting the broomstick with eggs. This may make this part of the battle go much faster.

Invincible Spell
-Problem: Gruntilda is trying to hit me witth a super spell that I can't outrun!
-Solution: Got gold feathers? Crouch down ((Z), and before the tracking spell hits, press Right-C to become invincible. She'll cast this spell repeatedly throughout the battle, so keep your eyes peeled for it.
-Win With Style: Every time an attack from Gruntilda is thwarted, she drops a honeycomb. Save those for later, when they're really needed.

Hurl Some Fireballs
-Problem: Gruntilda's hurling fireballs at low altitude!
-Solution: Run toward Gruntilda. Use the caastle wall as cover. When Gruntilda pauses, jump on the castle wall and shoot eggs at her. This cycle repeats several times.
-Win With Style: Gruntilda's fireballs tracck oddly. They aren't aimed at where you were, but where she predicts you're running! Learn how to run in a properly timed zigzag at Gruntilda - you'll find that her fireballs just keep missing and missing. Extend this concept further, and you'll be able to stand on the castle wall and zig back and forth, avoiding her attacks. Those with quick reflexes can shoot up to three shots in between her fireball throws. This makes this part of the battle go that much faster.

Takin' to the Air
-Problem: Gruntilda's flying, and she's hurrling fireballs!
-Solution: Run around a little bit until thhe mole pops up. A flying platform will appear. Hop on it and dive-bomb the witch (press B while flying). Don't get too close to her broom exhaust, or you'll get burned.
-Win With Style: Try to stay at the same leevel with the witch. Avoid attacking from too far away or too high up. Miss and you may wind up taking ground damage - or worse, if you smack into the ground and skid off the edge.

Jinjo's? Yes Jinjo's!
-Problem: Gruntilda's in the air, and she'ss activated a force field!
-Solution: Run around a bit to each corner.. A series of Jinjo statues should pop up. Shoot three eggs in the holes under each statue to send the Jinjos after Gruntilda
-Win With Style: Gruntilda's fireballs are your worst threat because of their odd tracking pattern. The best tactic: Stand still, wait until you hear the fireball coming, then run left or right - not forward or backward! Shoot eggs if possible, then repeat the process. Watch for the sound of a invincibility spell!

The Real Challenge
-Problem: Gruntilda's behind a force field on the castle wall, and she's pissed off! She's hurling everything at me.
-Solution: You stand no chance here withoutt help from the Jinjonator. Avoid fireballs until a huge statue emerges from the ground. Shoot or drop at least two eggs in each of the holes that appear under the statue (they appear in this order: behind the witch, to the right, in front of the witch, and to the left). Watch out for her invincibility spells.
-Win With Style: The only time to shoot egggs without getting hurt is after she shoots her invincibility spell. Use the time as she's casting the spell to position the camera properly to shoot eggs on target. If you have enough gold feathers, you can weather an entire salvo or two of fireball attacks by staying invincible. Don't be afraid to burn gold feathers to get the right shooting angle on those Jinjonator statue holes.

Jinjinator Gets Peeved (and Endings)
-Once Jinjonator's freed, he'll be ready too rock Gruntilda's world - literally! He'll knock her off the rooftop as she falls to her resting place in the training area at the start of the game. A huge boulder will trap her underneath. Then the beach-scene ending kicks in. (Did you catch the rather juvenile "nice coconuts" reference as a certain 36-24-36 walks by?) To get the full flavor of the ending, beat the game without getting all 100 puzzle pieces (leave an easy one in the Overworld). This'll ensure that you get to see the "bad" third ending. After getting all 100 puzzle pieces, you'll get the fourth "best" ending that reveals the three secrets in Banjo-Tooie, the sequel hinted at throughout the game.
