Level 2 - Treasure Trove Cove

Quick Analysis
Although most of the Jigsaw pieces are fairly straightforward, there are a few that are surprisingly tough to discover for beginners. The key to beating this level: Try every skill learned so far on any unfamiliar object or character, or in any unfamiliar area. Experiment!

Map
Show me the map of Treasure Trove Cove (69K).
Show me the map of the Lighthouse Area (12K).

Where's the Mole?
1. Look up the ship's mast. He'll teach Kazooie how to Fly (press A on a blue disk; red feathers are required).

2. Look in the southeast area just north of the submerged puzzle building. He teaches the Shock Jump (press A on a green disk).

Easy Jigsaw Pieces
See the map for a more precise look at the Jigsaw pieces' locations.

  1. Help the Pirate - Talk to the pirate on the ship. He's lost his two gold stashes. Stomp on a hole on the deck to get into the ship. Dive to find the first stash of gold. Go outside the ship and look for a window on one side, next to the water. Bust inside and swim for the second gold stash. Return both stashes to the pirate.
  2. Up the Lighthouse - First, learn how to fly. Fly straight up to the top of the level or fly underneath the mountain and look for a stairway hidden in an alcove (the pink star on the map). Go to the top of the lighthouse by using the platforms.
  3. Kill the crab - Look for the huge crab just west of the start. After it stops clawing, poke its eyes with Kazooie's beak attack (press B while jumping). After the crab retreats, enter its shell.
  4. Fill Buckets, Solve Puzzle - Visit the bucket with a hole in it. Plop eggs into it (hold down Z, then press Down-C). The bucket will drain the lake to the south. Go into the building. Using the Beak Buster, stomp the letters on the floor to spell out Banjo-Kazooie before time runs out. Kill the crab using the Forward Roll, then collect the piece in the back.
  5. Hit the X's - Starting in the north, use the Beak Buster to stomp the X spot. An arrow will appear. Fly to the next X spot seen and stomp it. The path runs counterclockwise around the level. After hitting the fifth X, an X will appear on an island to the east. Stomp that X to make a treasure chest appear; stomp the treasure chest.
  6. Jump and Grab - Using the green discs atop platforms on the East Side of the island, jump to reach an alcove next to the mountain - or fly there!
  7. Treasure Chests - Fly into an alcove underneath the mountain where a chomping treasure chest lies. Super Jump into it.
  8. Avoid the Mine - Swim to the bottom of the highest-elevation lake on the West Side of the level. Avoid the mine!
  9. Alongside the Edge - On the west edge of the island are thin platforms that lead to an alcove then to a puzzle piece. It may be faster to fly into the alcove instead.
  10. Jinjos - All the Jinjos are in plain view except the blue one, which is underwater. Dive accurately to grab it before getting chomped on by the shark (you can always shoot him from right off shore, too).

The 5 Jinjo's
There are 5 Jinjo's to rescue in each level. If you collect all of them you'll be rewarded with a Jigsaw piece and later on ...

Blue Jinjo - Under the jetty where Banjo starts.
Green Jinjo - At the top of Salty Hippo's mast.
Pink Jinjo - On one of the columns where you learned the Shock Jump.
Orange Jinjo - On a ledge near the pool with a Jiggy and Shrapnel.
Yellow Jinjo - On top of a palm tree at the top of the island on course to the lighthouse.

Honeycomb Pieces
First - Fly over the water in the northeast corner of the level. It's right above a floating box.
Second - It's deep underwater just north of the giant hermite carb, in a corner made by two high brown cliffs. Watch out for the shark!

Gruntilda Stomp Switch
Look for him directly south of the lighthouse.

Tips
Mines and Chests - Two new monsters are actually very easy to deal with. First are the treasure chests. You can Super Jump into one (hold Z, press A) when the lid's open. Try not to move the analog until at the peak of the jump, or else you might scrape the teeth edge on the way up. As for mines, shoot 'em with eggs to stun or destroy them, or dive deep to avoid them completely.
