Level 9 - Click Clock Wood
Quick Analysis
This level sucks away time. Most of the puzzles require an understanding of the seasons, since events that occur in the spring affect seasons later on, but not vice versa. Unfortunately, there's no flying allowed in the summer or fall, which makes getting some puzzle pieces a bit harder.
Switches
The level is broken up into four similar areas in different seasons. A season can't be entered until the switch is found for that level. Below is a list of where to find them - see the maps for additional info.
Spring Door Switch: It's right behind the start of the level.
Summer Switch: During Springtime, it's in front of the squirrel's home.
Autumn Switch: During Summer, it's south of the huge flower.
Winter Switch: During Autumn, it's in front of the bird nest.

Easy Jigsaw Pieces
See the map for a more precise look at the Jigsaw pieces' locations.
- Feed the Eagle - In the spring room, go up the tree to the nest. Crack the egg open. In the summer room, look for five caterpillars scattered throughout - they're fairly easy to find. Go up to the nest and feed the eagle. In the autumn room, find 10 caterpillars (check the maps). Go up to the nest and feed the eagle again. In the winter room, visit the eagle.
- Fly to the Top - In the winter room, fly all the way to the top. Look for a thin platform that has the piece in a shriveled-away plant. It is also possible to get this piece in the spring room as a bee.
- Help the Beaver - In the summer room, look for a beaver in the dried-out water area. Stomp on the rock to clear the entrance. In the fall room, swim up the entrance to talk to the beaver again. Note: Don't forget to visit the beaver in the winter for the honeycomb piece!
- Visit the Treehouse - In the summer room, go up and look inside the partially built treehouse. Inside is a puzzle piece that seems out of reach. Don't bother with it now. Just visit the same treehouse in the autumn room. Now the floor is completely built, making it easy to grab.
- Grow the Flower - In the spring room, look for a fenced-in barren field of dirt. There's a hole in the middle. Drop eggs into it (hold Z, face away from the target and press Down - C). Look for a flower to pop up.
Return to the same area in the summer room. Remember that thirsty camel from Gobi's Valley? He's back and looking for shade. Stomp on his back to make the flower grow. Revisit the same area in the autumn room. The camel's there; stomp on it again. Here's the trick. Don't bother climbing the flower. Instead, go up to the wasp hive. Don't jump in the hole! Go over it to find a small ledge. Drop straight down to nab the piece.
Difficult Jigsaw Pieces
See the map for a more precise look at the Jigsaw pieces' locations.
- Wasp Hive - This is only difficult if Banjo is low on health. In the summer room, jump into the wasp hive. Look for the entrance on top; stomp it if necessary. Stand on the protected puzzle piece and get ready to rumble. Kill all the wasps with a flying beak attack (press B while jumping) there'll be a lot of them. Make sure Banjo is facing wasps' head on before attacking. To avoid hits, try rolling (press B while running) every once in a while. Even better, just stand on the platform with gold feathers and let the bees come at you. Finish off the rest with regular attacks.
- Squirrel's Acorns - In the autumn room, talk to the squirrel. He needs acorns. They're all nearby. Look for one in his bedroom. Upon leaving the bedroom, look left for a walkway that leads to a window. Smash the window and grab the acorn inside. The other acorns are scattered just outside his home on walkways, in plain view. One acorn, floating in mid-air, may seem tough to get. It's no sweat: Stand on the left side of the circular walkway and face right. Look down. If positioned correctly, Banjo should be in a straight-line with a platform below. Leap to grab it, then float to the platform below where more acorns lie.
- Jump to the Top - It may be possible to get this puzzle in any season, but it can definitely be found in the summer room. Just get to the top of the tree. Look for these wooden platforms. Getting atop these platforms will require use of the Super Jump (hold down Z, then press A and move while in the air). Break open the door and look inside.
- Jump to the Bird - The jumps here are rather tough to pull off, requiring either a float (press A while in the air) or a Super Jump (press and hold Z, then press A). In the summer room, look for an area of the tree, to the right of the ramp usually taken to get up the tree. Stay on the leaves and keep jumping up. At the top is a bird. Kill the bird without falling off the thin platform for the Jigsaw piece.
- Jinjos - Banjo must turn into a bee to grab the most elusive Jinjos. First grab the Jinjos in the other rooms: yellow in summer, orange in autumn and blue in winter. Then go to the spring room and transform. Fly way up for the green Jinjo standing atop a dangerous plant then fly into the wasp hive for the pink one.
The 5 Jinjo's
There are 5 Jinjo's to rescue in each level. If you collect all of them you'll be rewarded with a Jigsaw piece and later on ...
Blue Jinjo - On Mumbo's hut (winter)
Green Jinjo - In a flytrap near the top of the tree (spring). Best reached as a bee.
Pink Jinjo - In the beehive (spring).
Orange Jinjo - On leaf pile near the big flower (autumn/fall).
Yellow Jinjo - In the high grass to the left of the entrance, near swarm of bees (summer).
Honeycomb Pieces
First - In winter, go to the squirrel's house by flying. Look for a window just above the squirrel's door. Dive Bomb the window .
Second - This piece can only be found in winter after destroying the rock blocking the beaver's home. Find a hole in the icy lake and quickly swim back to visit the beaver again.

Gruntilda Stomp Switch
In the winter room, fly up and look for a snowman guarding the switch on a thin platform. Aim at the snowman's hat and attack it (press B while flying). Once the enemy's killed, land on the platform. Transform into the bee before leaving Click Clock Wood, so you can get that puzzle piece outside the level immediately.
Tips
Silly Mumbo! - Mumbo has a sense of humor after you visit him enough. I've had random animations where he would try to turn me into a T-Rex, or turn me into a washing machine. Could there be more? P.S. To visit Mumbo in summer or fall, try falling from the tree above.
Camel Riddle? - In autumn, the camel makes an odd statement after stomping him. He says he's going to the "Lava World" where you'll never find him. Is this a world in the new Banjo-Tooie?
Kill the Cubes - The best way to get rid of the ice cubes in the winter area is to use the dash (hold Z, press B). It takes a second to pull it off, so don't get too close to the ice cubes.
