This fish fell to the same trick I used to catch the first sea fish I had ever caught. A simple trick but very effective. Using a smooth weight, and a spur with a long hook trace attached. The rag worm was dragged slowly (6-8 inched per second) along the bottom about 8 inches behind the weight. What happens is the fish sees the sand being disturbed and follows it thinking it is food. Fish will follow the bait for some considerable distance before grabbing at the bait, sometimes just before the weight is pulled from the bottom. |
