Two rods again, an old Daiwa Moonraker with an Abu 6000c (30 years old) and an Abu Atlantic with a Abu 6000. Main reel line 15 lb with a 30 lb shock leader. Single 2/0 blue hook on a short 8 & 12 inch trace (two rods!).The trace was 3 feet above the gripper weights (4.5 oz and 6 oz). |

To begin with they were small (6 inches) stripping the bait in seconds. Taking on both mackerel and sand eel. The eels were tail whipped with the hook in the body, but the little beggars still stripped the hooks bare in seconds. After the high tide lull, they started getting a bit bigger. With the best three being taken between 22:20 and 23:00. The last two were 11-12 inches and took like trains.. |
