Not a lot happened until nearly full tide. One 7 inch beastly, and how the second one got onto a 2/0 hook I don't know? Then at 01:50 bang bang ! unfortunately I was running about with a codling in my hand at the time so I did not see the full strike. Bringing it in, a sleek 8-9 incher, a very fit fish. All taken on mackerel. |

Put a lug on and what do you get ? |
Codling
|
At 01:50 there was a fair tug on the Daiwa. Anything that can move that old broomstick must be worth a look. The rod went silent, then bang bang, in you come. Funnily enough, at that moment Jamie and I were moaning about the lack of any decent codling this year. At 11.5 inches it is my best codling of 2000 (taken on mackerel). |
