Two rods, an old Daiwa Moonraker with an Abu 6000c (30 years old) and an Abu Atlantic with a Abu 6000. Main reel line 15 lb with a 30 lb shock leader. Single 2/0 & 4/0 blue hooks on a short 8 & 12 inch trace (two rods!).The trace was 3 feet above the gripper weights (4.5 oz and 6 oz). |

Lesser Spotted Dogfish

Big beasts hitting like trains and a tuggy big drag. They came in waves, all female, from 11-27 inches. All returned with minimum damage to fight another day.. |
Greater Spotted Dogfish | Bigger beasts which had a gentle tug but put up a good fight with the tide. |
Mackerel | At high tide they came, the first of the new year. (photo) |
