Words Of Wisdom
Don't Quit
When things go wrong, as they sometimes  will,
When the road you are truding seems all up hill,
When the funds are low, and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don't quit.

Life is queer with its twist and turns,
As everyone of us sometimes learns,
And many failure turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don't give up though the pace seems slow,
You may succeed with another blow.

Success is failure turned inside out,
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far;
So stick  to the fight when you're hardest hit,
that you must not quit.
Today
Yesterday is the past,
Tomorrow is the future,
Today is a
GIFT.
That's why it is called the "
present"
Do's and Don'ts
Go placidly  amid the noise and haste remember what peace there may be in the silience.
As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons.
Speack your truth quietly and clearly and listern to others, even the dull and ignorant;
They too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexatious to the sprit.
If you compare yourself with others, you may become in vain and bitter;
For always there will be greater and lesser persons then yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
It is a real posssession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caustion in your businees affairs;
For the world is full of trickery,
But let this not blind you, to what virtue there is.
Persons strive for high ideals; and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself; especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is perennial as the grass.
Take kindly the counsel of the years gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nature strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune; but do not distress yourself with imaginings.
Many fears are boarn of fatigue loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; You have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe in unfolding as it should.
Therefore, be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams it is still a beautiful world.
Be careful. Strive to be happy.

   WHAT DOES THE TERM CALCULUS MEAN?

Here is the story:

Years ago, ancient Romans had an instrument called a
hodameter, or
"road measurer" which correspond to our modern taxi meter. If you had hired a two- wheeled Roman vehicle to ride, say, to the Forum, you might have found back a tin can with a revolving cover that held a quantity of pebbles. This can was so contrived that each time the wheel turned, the metal cover also revolved, and a pebble dropped through a hole into the receptacle below. At the end of your trip you counted the pebbles and
calculated your bill. The Latin word for pebble was calculus, and that is where our word calculus comes from.
The Impossible Dream
To dream, the impossible dream
to fight, the unbeatable foe
to bear, with the unbearable sorrow
to run, where the brave dare not go

To right, the unrightable wrong
to love, pure and chaste from afar
to try, when your arms are too weary
to reach, the unreachable, star

This is my quest to follow that star
no matter how hopeless, no matter how far

to fight for the right without question or pause
to be willing to march into hell for a havenly cause

and I know if I'll only be true, to this glorious quest
that my heart, will lie peaceful and calm when I'm laid to my rest
and the world, will be better for this,
that one man, scorened and covered with scars
still strove, with his last ounce of courage,
to reach, the unreachable, star.
