Greetings!

Here is a quick run down of the characters taking place in the PBeM
Campaign.

	*****

King Phineas: Phineas was a RuneMaster of Humakt. He ruled the Kingdom of
Nerria for approximately three hundred years. Although apparently human, Phineas
was granted a long life during a quest to the Nexus. Phineas was placed as king of
Nerria by the Overlord of Zhalindor, Al Alfredo, after Phineas and his companions
freed the land from the scourge of the Archlich Nigilranthrib. Phineas had been
knighted earlier by the Duke of Lei Tabor. Phineas spent much of his time as a
monarch emplacing a social order based on the watchful attentions of his personal
police force known variously as the ``defenders'' or ``the hands of Phineas.''
The personal police force were schooled in various psionic disciplines and martial
arts. Phineas also encouraged the engineering of new species of plants. King Phineas
was later the holder of the Ring of Good, a powerful artifact allowing for the
consumation of right and just rulership. King Phineas met his end in a cataclysmic
battle between himself and the Vampire Lord Istalome who had been released from a
millenia long imprisonment by a party sponsored by Phineas consisting of relatives
and former adventuring companions. Istalome possessed the Ring of Evil given
to him by that ill fated party. Istalome and Phineas annilated each other.
The final battle took place on the Isle of Carrastinian; it is said the ground
in the pit created by the explosion still radiates intense magic.

Although Phineas' reign was a noble one by nearly any standard, some historians
would pause and wonder at King Phineas' dislike of halflings and his apparent persecution
of the Church of True Light. Although there is no direct evidence to show King Phineas
acted directly against the halflings (except during a brief war with Hemen), the
population of halflings in Nerria declined steadily during his reign either through
attrition or emmigration. King Phineas is still known as ``Phineas the Black'' by
halflings the world over.

Equally strange was Phineas' persecution of the Church of True Light. The Church
was founded by a former companion of Phineas', Gabrielle, Lady of Light. The Church was
constantly the object of taxation and examination by the Hands of Phineas. Even more
odd was the fact that Phineas never took the next step of seizing any of the Church's
holdings or imprisoning any of its members.

Phineas currently seeks to destroy the Old Ones and restore the world to its
former state.

Branham Stephenson: Branham was a former Imperial Intelligence Officer. When
directed to stop the Hiver aggression in the Centauri sector, Branham found himself
confronting a rag tag group of adventurers who appeared both ignorant of the Imperium
and possessing Ancient's technology. Branham infiltrated the group and found himself
transported to another world where certain creatures had acquired god like levels of
psionic abilities. It was one of these creatures who stood behind the Hivers' actions.

Branham stopped the threat to his own beloved Imperium, but has
sought in vain to thwart the possibility of any further disruptions from this
world to the Imperium. Branham believes that the gods and goddesses inhabiting
the world he finds himself in are merely advanced members of his own universe who
somehow travelled here and gained power. Branham postulates a link between this
world and a Dyson sphere he observed shortly before being transported to this world.

Branham was a travelling companion of King Phineas and holds the title of Court
Baron to the Overlord. He has been a long time friend to the Council of Mages in Lhormar,
and Branham is the head of the Psionic council to Zhalindor.

Branham's current goal to prevent the Old One's from getting access to the Imperium.
Although Branham would like to preserve life if possible, it is more important to destroy
the Old One's than to save a few million lives (as opposed to trillions in the Imperium) if
those are the only two choices. Branham would like to see the world reconfigured in such
a way as to destroy the Old One's or permanently prevent their ability to travel the planes.

	*****

Vorondil: Vorondil is an old elf whose only love perished of a hideous disease some
centuries before. To relieve his boredom and inner torture, Vorondil went travelling with
Huvis and his companions. During their travels, Huvis and friends released a demon lord, an
arch-fiend and an evil deity. Although these denizens were all either dispelled or destroyed,
Vorondil has seen enough. His ennui has returned.

Vorondil seeks the end of the world and obliteration of all the pain and suffering
therein.

	*****

Leoshi: Leoshi was a travelling companion of Huvis. Leoshi is from Titsu in the
Eastern Realms and is a Mistress of the Path of Imminent Mastery. Leoshi has spent many
years learning the wisdom of the world. She carries two items of great power, her sword
Wind Whisper and her hat Stormflower. Leoshi is human.

Leoshi was instrumental in the defeat of the Arch-fiend Moloch. Leoshi went on
with her companions to reassemble the World Machine.

Leoshi seeks to fulfill the prophesies of the end of the world and drive Chaos and Void
from this world.

	*****

Miriya Chen: Miriya is actually a hive creature released from her dependent
state through the magic of some plant known as ``the flower of life.'' Her ``father,''
Zor, was lost to Miriya early on. She sought over the course of centuries to locate
her father and defeat evil in all its forms. (Miriya *was* part of the ill fated party
which released Istalome.)

Miriya's most important contributions in the years following the release of
the Vampire Lord Istalome were the fighting of the Slith Lords, who were summoned by
Istalome, and the fighting and destruction of the slavers from Palmalta.

Miriya seeks a final judgement for all the sentients of the world where
the vile will be obliterated, and the good will live in a new, whole world where
the imperfections which once were shall remain no more.

	*****

Guy: Guy initially joined Huvis' band to fulfill a requirement of his
father's will. Guy also wanted to stop the White Ships from taking more
people away to the ``Beautiful Island.'' Guy helped to destroy Moloch and end the
dominion of the White Ships, but Guy also met with terrible tragedy.

While adventuring to the Temple of Lord Eldar, Guy lost a bet for his soul
with the high priest of the Temple. Since that time, Guy has been tied to the
powers of the Void. With the reconstruction of the World Machine, Guy has access
to the limitless powers of the planes beyond Zhalindor.

Guy's goal is to take control of a plane. Really any plane will do. Guy is
not particular. It does not matter if the Old One's remain.

	*****

Risk (AKA Luck): Risk is a halfling who was born during the First Mortal Empire
some twelve thousand years ago. He followed the teachings of Malachi the White. Malachi
opposed the Slith Lords and was eventually able to imprison the seven dark lords, but
unfortunately this occured after Risk was placed in a powerful stasis field, and Risk's
family was slain by the dark seven.

Risk awoke as a museum piece in Credia after several millenia of imprisonment.
The Slith Lords were active again, and Risk's sole goal became their destruction! During
his travels Risks came in contact with Huvis and his companions. While adventuring with
this group, Risk became linked to an animal shaman in the form of spiritual rabbit. Since
that time, Risk has been saved numerous times by rabbits and hares.

Risk seeks to imprison or preferably destroy the Slith Lords. He also wishes
to see the Old One's banished beyond the world.
