This link will take you to the wiring diagram chart for my 14" Hayden electric fan | ||||||
Installation instructions Electric fan with shroud (as stated in Hayden instructions) Read these instructions carefully and thoroughly before beginning installation. Failure to follow these instructions may lead to personal injury and/or damage to vehicle fan assembly. Cooling requirements will vary depending on the make and model. Other factors such as climate, towing, etc. will also have an effect. Depending on these factors it may be necessary to retain the OE fan and use the electrical fan as an auxilary cooling fan. After reading the instructions: 1. Seperate the enclosed parts on a clean, level surface so the packaging may be checked for the proper contents. Identify and familiarize yourself with each part. The package assembly for the mounting hardware consists of the folowing: A. Reversible fan blade and motor B. 4 nylon brackets C. 4 nylon pull straps D. 8 foam pads E. 4 nylon lock buttons F. 2 ring connetors G. 2 spade connectors H. 3 butt connectors I. Wire roll J. Fuse holder K. Illumination switch L. Motor connector w/ 1' black & 1' blue wire 2. The following tools will be necessary for the proper assembly and installation of the fan. Other tools may be necessary as prescribed by your application. A. Flat blade screw driver B. Pliers C. Wire cutters/strippers D. 6" cresent wrench WARNING: If the existing fan is removed from the water pump pulley, the pulley must be resecured to the water pump shaft. Shorter bolts may be necessary to prevent damage to the water pump housing. Failure to secure the pulley to the water pump shaft may result in persobal injury and/or damage to the vehicle. 3. It is not usually necessary to remove the radiator for installation. On some models equiped with air conditioning it may be necessary to remove the mounting hardware and tilt the back towards the engine to gain clearance between the radiator and condensor coil. NOTE: These electric cooling fans are designed to PUSH or PULL air, depending on the installation. Fans are preassembled in the PULL configuration. If your application requires that you push air, please follow the steps listed below - A. Remove the retaining "C" clip and fan blade B. Turn fan blade over and realign to properly fit over the roll pin in the motor shaft. C. Press fan blade in place and reinstall "C" clip on the motor shaft. 4. Place the assembly in the desired position on the radiator. (Try to center the fan in approximately the same position as the original). Using the hardware supplied. (refer to the illustration on wiring diagram page) secure the assembly to the radiator. 5. Before wiring, spin the electric fan to insure free & unobstructed rotation; preventing possible damage to the fan and/or radiator. 6. Mount the illuminated on/off switch in a desirable position underneath the dash using the (2) sheet metal screws provided. 7. Follow wiring diagram and instructions for the proper electrical connections. 8. Start the engine and check the fan for proper operation. |
