Speedometer pinion gear install instructions
Tools needed:
Crescent wrench
10 mm socket and ratchet
Quick hands....see NOTE below #3

This is a simple remove/install process.
1.  Use the crescent wrench to loosen the cable that is attached to back of the speedo in the cab.
2.  Now use the 10mm socket to loosen the retaining bolt that secures the assembly to the transfer case.
3.  Remove the old speedo pinion gear assembly from the transfer case.
NOTE:  when you remove the speedo pinion t-case fluid will run out, so be prepared to install the new speedo pinion gear A.S.A.P.
4.  Install new speedo pinion gear exactly as the old one was.  It will go about 3/4 of the way in and then the 0-ring will make contact.  Then you must push it in further until it is properly seated.
5.  Now you will have to fit the speedo cable back into the assembly.  The cable is notched on one side so that it will fit in the assembly one way only.
6.  Tighten down 10mm retaining bolt.
7.  Secure cable to assembly with crescent wrech.
8.  Drive!
