Sir Anthony Hopkins has broken his silence over the 30-year marriage to the woman he has not lived with for five years.

Hopkins, 62, lives in California while his church-going wife, Jenni, lives quietly in whales.

They have no plans to divorce, despite Sir Anthony’s romance with interior designer Francine Kay, 34.

When asked about the status of his marriage, he said "She thinks I’m crazy living here in Mickey Mouse Land. I can’t live there. I was stifled. Things changed."

Sir Anthony became an American citizen last year but did not tell Jenni, 55, who found out from media reports.

She remained loyal when he dogged by alcoholism and when he embarked on affairs.
