Sipadan Island offered many dive sites , all within a short boat ride
and it also offers many world famous sites.
These are some of the sites:
Turtle Tomb
This is a Turtle Cavern where, because of it's complex interconnecting passages, laid the remains of turtle that drown because of getting lost in it.
Barracuda Point
This is where you could easily see school of barracuda, jacks or hump head parrot fish.
Jacky with a school of Jacks A school of Barracuda
Hump Head Parrot fish
Whitetip Avenue
The name says it all.
Two Whitetip Sharks
Carol Garden
This is a shallow dive site, we did a sunset dive here. We saw a school of Jacks of hundreds that we swam along and among for over 20 minutes. We also saw a school of Hump Head Parrot fish returning after a day at "school".
Jimmy with a school of Jacks School of Hump Head Parrot fish

Apart from the above mentioned dive sites, there are many more but we are just unable to show you all. For example, Sipandan Island is also a nature reserve, funded by the World Wide Fund for the protection of turtles that laid eggs on the island. We also saw such an events at night.

In addition, there is also Mabul, an Island nearby that also offer accommodation and diving.
We must thank Lee Hoi Ming, our instruction, for taking these underwater photos for us. Also because of his influence, we also took up underwater photography on later trips.
Sipadan is definitely a wonderful diving resort. We certainly hope that the recent problem with Philippino terrorist kidnapping divers from the island will not affect this island.
