Bad Religion
This time when it was very dangerous to belong to the wrong confession is still very well known. Our account is about 18 year old Joan that live around the 1620s in
in a small town in the middle east Europe. The Thirty Years' war was ravaging the country until it finally impacted Joan and her family. They all have converted to Protestantism some years ago
but now times changed again and the scouring started. Everybody belonging to the "Bad Religion" tried to hide in the forrests.
When the Imperial troops searched the hills around Joan's hometown the first got hand on the poor girl while she was picking mushroms. After days of severe torture she could no longer stand the pain and
reveald the hiding place of her siblings.
As a result, her young life ende here in this dungeon in November 1623 by the garotte. The executioner proceeded very slowly as he always did with young girls.
And now, the hunt for the rest of Joan's family began ...
Hopefully, my research will reveal some facts about their fate as well.
