You decide to pay a visit to Zefir. His path seems to slope upwards, so you prepare for a climb. And a climb is what you get. You reach a sort of cliff, and the path leads on a thin ridge up the face of the rock. You cling to the rock face as you climb the short distance, trying not to look down as you get higher and higher above the ground.
Soon, you reach a large ledge. You can see far over the forest realm, and you sit down to catch your breath and gaze out over the seemingly endless expanse of trees. Suddenly, you hear a voice behind you.
Hello.
You whirl around, and find yourself facing an extraordinary creature.
The dragon is small, only coming up to your hips, but it shines with a metallic gold sheen that makes it wonderful to look at. It gazes at you with expressionless silver-blue eyes, its big wings folded at its sides.
"Hello...?" you reply cautiously. Something about this dragon makes you uneasy. It seems to have no personality, just a flatness about its actions.
What brings you to my cliff? the dragons asks.
"Umm..." you begin, "I'm exploring this realm and I thought I'd like to meet you. Are you Zefir?"
The one, the only, the dragon scowls, waving his tail impatiently. What knowledge do you seek, or can I leave?
You aren't about to take that painstakingly long and tedious climb for nothing. "Well, where do you come from?" you ask.
I come from Aurora's ODA Branch, where KimgdomDragons like me are adopted out to good homes. Amaryllis came and adopted me there -- she was very pleased at my rare coloration. Several weeks after my hatching she adopted Fayith, whom I met in the Sky Realm. You detect a hint of emotion when he talks about Faytih, and it's not hard to guess why.
"It sounds like you have a great life here," you say.
I do, Zefir replies. One of peace, joy, and privacy. If you'll excuse me, I need a nap.
You raise an eyebrow as the golden Dragon turns around and trots back into his cave. Poor Fayith. That leaves you to return to the signpost and see another creature.
