You decide to pay a visit to Diveproud. His path leads out into the ocean, so you ready yourself for diving, and slip into the ocean.
The water is pleasently cool, and you can travel several yards with one kick of your flippers. You see red markers on Diveproud's path, mysteriously muted underwater. You begin to swim along the path, pushing off of the markers to gain speed.
Soon, you reach a big valley in the ocean floor. The path stops here, so you dive down, and look around for some sign of Diveproud. And, in one sudden, ice blue flash, you find it. You are staring into the dark eyes of a magnificent serpent.
You make a high-pitched 'eep!' noise, remembering the warnings of sea serpents in the notebook. You kick backwards, watching the creature fearfully. It, however, makes no move to attack. Instead, it cocks its head, smiles, and speaks.
Welcome, traveler, it says in a kind voice. I see that you are frightened, but, I assure you, I have no connections with sea serpents. I'm a Sea Snake. Breathe easy.
You let out your breath in a deep sigh. "Sorry," you say. "It's just...you look sort of like a serpent...."
The dragon smiles. An understandable assumption, it assures you, and you did the right thing by backing up. I'm Diveproud.
You smile, and introduce yourself. "It's nice to meet you," you say.
Diveproud smiles back. It's a treat to have a visitor. I don't see many people around these days -- I suppose that my valley is a bit daunting. Amaryllis found me while exploring the Roaring Dragons reserve. I was swimming, of course, and she was fascinated by my grace; at least, that's what she said. But she adopted me to live in the Ocean Realm, where she knew I'd be happy. And I am -- very much so.
"I can't blame you," you agree, gazing around at the rippling seaweed and colorful fish. "It's beautiful."
Nodding, Diveproud does a little flip in the water. I suppose you should be off now, he says. There's a big realm to explore, and you've only just started. Enjoy yourself.
"I will!" you say eagerly. You proceed to swim back to the surface, and return to the signpost to keep exploring.
