You decide that it would be fun to meet Miracle. The name certainly gives off a good impression, you think. Miracle's path leads off to your right, and you turn to follow it.
After a long walk, you finally come to your destination. And what a destination it is! A broad, curved platform of stone is before you, trimmed by poofy clouds. The sky is scattered with rainbows, as though a great invisible prism is floating in the very center of the platform and the sun is shining from all sides. However, there is actually something in the middle of the platform, perching on a rock, and that thing is a majestic dragon.
Hello, the dragon says, gliding gracefully down from her perch and pacing lazily over to you. She seems very, very old, but it is also as though she were just born. There is a peace in her eyes that cannot be found anywhere else. It is the peace that comes from having lead a happy, complete life.
"Hi," you reply. "You're Miracle?"
The dragon nods her majestic head. That is I, she confirms, taking a seat in front of you. What brings you here, traveler?
"I'm touring Dracogrex," you explain, gesturing around you at the huge expanse that is the Sky Realm. "I thought I'd like to meet you."
It is a pleasure to have a guest, Miracle says graciously, bowing her head slightly. I'm sure you're enjoying your explorations. Surely you don't want to take time out for an old female's tales.
"I do!" you reply enthusiastically, sitting down as well and waiting eagerly.
Miracle chuckles, and begins her tale.
Amaryllis adopted me when Dracogrex was still small, as was she. We have grown up together, the three of us; me, Amaryllis, and Dracogrex. It is a beautiful place, this, and you're very lucky to be here. You are witnessing things that few people even dream of. But back to me; she had just discovered Aurora's ODA Branch, and she selected my egg to hatch and raise. She took good care of me, preparing a place for me to hatch and grow. I hatched healthy and strong, much to her joy.
I soon grew into a young adult, and Amaryllis knew that I would soon desire a companion of my own breed. So, she decided to adopt another orphan like me; a white male named Mist Star. He was a good friend to me, but I fell for him, and he for me. We have had many clutches together, and seen them go to good homes, some of these homes in Dracogrex.
It was a sad time for me to see the all the Orphan Dragon Adoption branches closing down and dissapearing. I couldn't bear to think of all the dragons that would never get good homes now. Amaryllis and Mist saw how brokenhearted I was, and remembered how much of a mother I had been to all of the KingdomDragons here. So, Amaryllis went out and rescued all of the abandoned KingdomDragons, setting up Miracle's ODA Branch just for me. I was, obviously, delighted beyond words, and I have done my best to care for it, along with a friend of Amaryllis's, Dragon Dreamer. Together, we adopt out KingdomDragons to good homes.
There is the story of my life. I am old now, as is my beloved Mist Star, but I am still full of joy. I hope you find the same joy in your life.
"I...wow," you say, slightly overwhelmed by the beautiful story of this one dragon's life. "Thank you," you add, in response to Miracle's last comment. "It sounds like you've done...a lot."
Miracle nods. I have, indeed, she agrees, but none of it was work. I was fufilling my duties to my fellow KingdomDragons. It has been worth it, and it always will be worth it. I am very happy, surrounded by children and grandchildren.
You nod, feeling slightly inferior.
I suggest you go out and meet some of them, Miracle adds, nodding back toward the signpost. You can find my family all over Dracogrex, if you know where to look.
"I'll look hard," you promise, getting up to leave. "It was great to meet you."
Likewise, Miracle replies, smiling a soft smile. Pleasent travels.
You thank Miracle again, and return to the signpost with a new respect and appreciation for all the wonderful people that make wonderful things happen.
