You decide that you would like to meet Rakshi. His path winds off behind you, so you turn around and begin to power-walk the length. The stone barely wobbles, showing just how strong it is.
After a while, you come to a large platform. It is crafted artfully out of a deep blue stone that glistens in the sun, and you see curious designs etched into the edges. You kneel down to examine them, and see countless pictures of dragons and other creatures that seem to be either fighting or in peace, depending on what section of the carvings you look at.
You get up again to look out over the platform itself. There is a large basin in the middle, with one solitary post in the middle. A long, slender blue dragon is coiled around the post, seemingly meditating.
You consider calling out, but, before you can do so, the dragon opens his eyes. He lifts his long, slender neck, and spreads his blade-like wings. Hello? he calls, making as if to glide off of his post.
"Hello!" you reply. "Are you Rakshi?"
Yes, Rakshi replies, using his little bird-like feet to crawl up to the top of the deep blue post. Who are you?
"I'm exploring Dracogrex," you explain. "Er...should I come down there?"
Rakshi shakes his head. That will not be nessecary, he says, thrusting himself from the post and soaring 20-some feet in the air. When he is in the middle of you and the post, he dips downward and spirals over to land right in front of you, wings folded at his sides.
"Hi," you say again, impressed with the display of Rakshi's flight. "So...what were you doing before? Meditating, or what?"
Rakshi smiles lazily. Yes, I was meditating, he confirms. I am studying to be a Master.
You blink. "Master...master of what?" you ask.
Rakshi almost smirks. Magic, he says simply. I come from far away, where I lived in solitude to practice my birth-bestowed powers. However, the humans had started to come near, and I feared for my safety and the safety of the others in my forest. Amaryllis came by right about then, and gave me this place to meditate and train. Someday I will be great, he adds, smiling dreamily. Someday I will shape the world with my claws.
You nod appreciatively, not quite sure how else to respond. Frankly, you think that shaping the world with one's claws sounds like a lot of work. "I'm sure," you reply.
Rakshi shows his glistnening white teeth in a smile. You will be sure someday, he replies, and you sense a hint of lust for strength in his words. You certainly hope, if he does decide to become that powerful, he's friendly.
I'f you'll excuse me, Rakshi says dryly, I must meditate. The forces call me. With that, Rakshi does a backflip into the air, and lands expertly on his post, coiling around it again and closing his eyes, apparently losing all thought of your existance.
You turn, and go back to the signpost. Meanwhile, Rakshi opens his eyes, and turns to watch you leave. I will shape the world, he thinks, someday....
