A Lower Point of View

Walking down the street you’re so cheery. You see him sitting there, his face in a book. The world seems to gray all around him. Everything’s going right for you, so you think, what the hell, he might me friendly. You ask him the time as you walk up and he says, that depends on your point of view. You say what do you mean? And he says, you gotta stop thinking inside the box.
You gotta higher point of view; you see all the goodness of life. He’s gotta lower point of view, he knows all the complication and hatred and pain.

Which is better he asks, the joy of day or the peacefulness of night? It all depends on which is easier to find. He is the key, he tries to set you free, you take your first steps into a wider more open world, and all the way you’re trying to push him back, to confine within your own prison.
You gotta higher point of view; you see all the goodness of life. He’s gotta lower point of view, he knows all the complication and hatred and pain.

You pull him up, he climbs the mountain, He gets to the top, you slip on a rock, catch yourself! You beg him to grab you, to not let you fall, he doesn’t budge when you loose your grip, instead he jumps, cause…
You gotta higher point of view; you see only the goodness of life. He’s gotta lower point of view, he knows all the complication and hatred and pain.

You land on your back; he lands in a kneeling position. Your back aches, and burns but already you feel it healing. He tells you welcome to the bottom, the only place from here is up, you look all around but you see no walls. Your eyes open wide yet very slowly; you stare into he words of a book. You’re sitting in the park, back against a tree when a man walks up to you and asks, what’s the time?

Now you gotta lower point of view, you see all the complications of life. He’s gotta higher point of view, but that’ll all change in time.
You gotta lower point of view; you see all the complications of life. He’s gotta higher point of view, but that’ll all change today.
