Opening the golden door brought you to another world, as you have expected. The door closes slowly behind you as it parts of the doors shattered into a waterfall of gold and vanishes. There is no turning back but only to move on and face the dragon that roams this new world. You were faced with a tiny castle that loomed before you as you stood on a rock path. Trees borderd the path almost like walls that blocks you from any attempt to escape. Your shoes tap against the rocky path and rocks crumble beneathe each stride and step you take. The castle grows closer and closer but soon stop as a rustle of branches faintly can be heard in the distant. You shrugged it off, thinking that it must of been a bird that was frightened by your approach towards the castle. Suddenly the earth shakes and shatter under you. The gravel that filled the path crunches and shatters violently. What was happening? To your left, you find that the trees simply vanished and in its place, a war strucked out. Horses galloped towards you with masked warriors weilding blades and spears as they cry out war cries. In reply, another wave of horses and warriors raged to your right. You was right in the middle of everything. No where to run or hide, you fall to your knees and cover your head as a blade nearly misses your hair. Expecting to be trampled by the many hooves of horses, nothing came. Opening one eye, you could clearly see that the hooves didn't touch the ground at all. Blades clinged above you as the different forces of the war striked each other. Neighs of the horses sounded as you crawl beneathe to get to safety. These were ghost warriors were battled the war that had begun a long time ago. The gravel cut at your knees as you crawled towards the castle. Blades clash upon blades and war cries sounded through the air. Cries of pain and lost also rang through the still air of war. A warrior fell from his horse and touched the path. Death was written over the dead body as you yelped. Without holding back any fear, you stood up and dash down the stony path as you dodge the many blades that come in your path as you hurry past the wounded men and horses along the road. Before you knew it, you were at the castle's entrance. With the door lying open, you run right on in and fail to notice a pair of eyes that surveyed you from the high tower.
Inside the castle, it was damp and musty. Cobwebs were at every corner as the torches looked unused for years. The doors slowly creak behind you before slamming shut. Jumping up, you look at the oak door and try to make it budge. It proved worthless and you have to move on through the castle. Your steps echoe and so did your breathing. Suddenly, a fierce wind erupts the air as the torches were finally lighten and your path was viewed from their glow. What have caused the torches to suddenly come to life? Shivering at the thought that a creature might be trailing after you, there was only one thing to do but to move on.
Coming to an intersection of halls and rooms, you felt lost among the maze. Sighing with frustration, you take one to the left until a dark voice came to your ears from the shadows.
"I wouldn't pass that way if I were you."
"Why not?"
You replied while you squint through the darkness to see the founder of the voice.
"Because there are creatures here that do not wish to be found. Creatures that will tear you to shreds once they set eyes on you, human."
As the words were being said, a yellow claw gleamed that contrast against the gloom. This was followed by feathers and wings. After seeing the full length and appearance of the creature, you might have mistaken it for a bird. But no, it was a griffin. The creture's eyes stare at you without taking a glance off of you.
"You were lucky enough to make it this far. Those warriors outside could of ripped you up. You can easily pass them, if you had wings."
You stamped your feet down on the ground.
"Warriors or not, I have made it."
Without taking any advice from the griffin, you took the path that was going to take. Down the hall, a barred door stood in your way. Before coming even close to open the handle, a snarl was released from inside. Violent bashes against the door and slashes at the metal door made you yelp and run back to the intersection where the griffin waited.
"You are such a fool. Follow me."
The griffin re-entered the path it revealed itself and disappeared. With no alternatives, you reluclantly followed. This path looked more used than the others because you could see that cobwebs soon become less. The room became more bright with paintings aligning the walls. Paintings of the landscape of distant and foreign lands and of strange abstract art. The griffin peers over its shoulder at you from time to time, wondering if you have followed him or not.
"My name is Carlox, a guardian."
Opening your mouth to respond to the introduction, you come to a dead end with only a painting that occupied it. A black dragon looms on the painting that stood on a cliff that looks off into the full moon. Groaning, you snap at the griffon.
"You took me to a dead end you..."
It was the griffon's turn to snap back.
"I would keep my mouth shut human. If I have not come across you, then you would of been dead meat. So show some respect and graditude."
Carlox puffs his chest out and snorts before returning his attention towards the painting. Something moved in the still and serene painting. The dragon seemed to roar into the night and expanded its wings. Yellow eyes glowed from the painting and seemed to fly towards you. Wings flared and tail whipping wildly in the air, it shined its ivory teeth and looked as if it was going to escape the painting. Holding your breath, the painting twirled and the wall moved. A secret passage. On the other side of the painting, heaps of treasure that gleamed under the lanterns among the walls. Rubies and saffires shined as rays of their colors splashed on the gold coins scattered across the concrete floor. Staring down at the treasures in awed, you were left defenseless towards the impact of a massive body. Slamming you down into the ground, two forepaws pinned you down by the shoulders and your legs were numbed by the back legs of a dragon that snarled down at you. His scales glistened a bright gold that blended with the treasures that surrounded you.
"My name is Triton, son of Golden Heart and Merita. Don't you forget that name, slime ball."
'Another Fire. Great.' You thought to yourself. Your shoulders begin to pain as the dragon pushes down harder but not hard enough to snap your bones.
"I heard that you were giving trouble to Carlox and disturbing the dead. You should never do this again, understand?"
You nodded rapidly and felt blood pumping into your veins once more. Rising to your feet immediately, the dragon's green eyes stared at you. Triton narrowed his eyes and growls.
"Never forget my name, slime ball."
A large gate appeared at the corner of the room. Spikes gleamed dangerously at the bar's tips as it creaks open. Dashing towards it, you exit it before hearing the chuckles and laughter of the griffon and dragon.
