Piri Piri
Species name: Capsicum frutescens.
Color: Pale green maturing to dark red.
Shape: Slim, elongated pod tapering to a point.
Description: Thin-fleshed, aromatic hot pepper.
Scoville Heat Units: I haven't been able to locate it.
Other Names: Pili-pili, Gindungo.
Related Cultivars: Malagueta, Tabasco.
Most Commonly Grown In: Angola, Mozambique Portugal.

This pepper is virtually unknown in the USA, though it is very common in Southern Africa. It is also the main ingredient of the Portuguese sauce Molho de Piri Piri, which is very popular.
